I have to laugh hard for the damn slow K1A1 tank. it features a 1200hp engine for such a ~55ton body and as the result, the cross country speed is only 40km/h. when compared to the 65km/h speed of the type-99, it is like asking for death. In general, we don't regard Korean toys as weapons as they NEVER fire any shot in real conflict. This forum is for serious discussion, please stop mentioning those korean toys.

Japanese Type-90 is of course far better than K1A1, but when compared to Type-99g, it is just another piece of toy. Please have a look at its operational range and then compare it to other major tanks, when you see such shitty spec like that, you really can't argue it to be the "best".

btw: Type-96g/Type-99a/a1/g are to some extend linked to the T-72, not T-59.

there was a funny video comparing Type-90 with China's Type-96g and argue Type-90's stabilizer is cool. Type-96 is regarded as the second class MBT in PLA which is designed to be light so it can operate in the southern part of China. the most funny part is the video compares a Type-90 with a Type-96g with its stabilizer switched off.

i mean come on chinese toys are even more distructive, and one more thing bro when it will lets say came to tank battle vs battle . japan, south korea will stand no chance against chinese military might.

99 armor strength:

First of all, 99 is not a soviet design. The only soviet remenent on body frame. The turrent is completely new and the engine is different.
600mm (1200mm with addon reactive armor)
Tested agains T-72 and HJ. T-72 was unable to penetrate 99's armor even at close blank range. HJ anti-tank missile was also unable to do so.
99's autoloader is not soviet design. the loader is a Chinese design similar to Leopard 2.
99's gun armor penetration is 850mm at 3000m, comparing to M1A1's 810mm, it has advantage.
Cost: 2.5 million

K2:
the armor rating is unclear.
gun penetration: 860mm at 3000m using German shells, 800 using indigenous shells.
Cost: 7.1 million

first.. you guys have to understand.
99's autoloader is a copy soviet design from T80. T80 and T72 have identical loader, but T80's loader increased the reloading speed.
which chinese have purchase few of those tank before. that why they developed the "type 96" i mean look at their road wheels, dont they look identical?
type 99 use a carousel type autoloader (identical to T80). the loader was fited interal, right under the gunner and commander's seat. this make the tank very dangerous once any round penetrate the armour. <-- this can result of a catastrophe secondary explosion killing all crew.
K2 uses the french "Leclerc's" autoloader, which is a typical western loader that separate the crew and ammunation. so if the tank was struck a penetrator and successfully penetrated the armour, the likelihood of interal ammunation explosion killing all crew was zero.

Howevery this did not proof that type 99 was inferior to K2
its worth mention that now korean experiencing engine difficulties, the tank cannot reach its designed speed. also the company was under fund.
type 99 in the past have been test at harshest weathers and conditions, which i have to give a credit to type 99 for its reliability.

China didn't get technic of T80.
ability of 99G's armor, is excellent, this is proved by live ammunition test.

this is how china obtained the russian 2A46 gun, tank fired 9M119 Refleks ATGM, auto loader, thermo sight, and night vision.
before china purchased T80, all the chinese domestically developed tanks were manually loaded.

Fairly nice story! But China did not buy T80. Instead China bought production licenses of 2A46 gun and the ATGM. For God's sake we don't need Russian thermo or night vision equipments.
