@griffin : Interesting. Can you show us the news about the Han and Song Class? I read about a Song Class in Indian Ocean some time ago. But the sub at the the OP picture is definitely not a Song Class Submarine. Is it Xia Class Submarine? or 094?

nearly a year back,Indian and US Navy reported that they had 20 contacts with some PLAN Sub which is way too noisy,I though its Han Class.if that was some new Chinese SSBN/SSN,then I've nothing to say.

It is clearly a Type 094, not a Type 092.

The conning tower is a good method to differentiate these two subs.

first,they Claimed,its a Han Class Sub,then PLAN media person said its a Song.and now,you're caiming its a Type-94(I think you're saying this about the same sub in Sri Lanka,right)...which one is true??

There are more than one sub visiting the Indian Ocean, and you don't seem to understand that.

and your source??Its pretty much clear that IOR is crawling with subs from Russia,US,India,Pakistan and other nations.but to open a thread for that??jeez..plus,how do you know Type-94 is used for long patrols??only reason PLAN deploy subs for long patrol is to escort its surface vessels.but then,nobody apart from Navy knows about these sub activities,really.so,whats the source??
