The girl is a man trap. She makes men fall in love with her and gets them to empty their accounts and sends them to a gravel pit where her boyfriend executes them and buries them car and all in the sand. He suspects there is something fishy but has a hard time admitting it. A fellow officer hears the scam and decides to secretly be there too incase it is a deadly encounter. Luckily he was there or else Crockett would be dead. Crockett is devastated at being scammed so badly. He goes to the beach where she hangs out and she is replicating the piles of sand on her dead victims. She sees a man walking and assumes it is the boyfriend but in reality it is Crockett and she knows what must have happened but immediately switches into scam mode. He doesn't say a word as he has her arrested.
Later there is a scene of police with poles at the gravel bit finding car after car in the sand just like the ending of "Psycho" when they pull all the cars of Norman's victims out of a pond.
