According to India Today, on Friday, a mob of around 10-15 men allegedly assaulted two Kashmiri youths studying at the Central University of Haryana , Mahendergarh.

At around 2:30pm, Aftab and Amjad were returning to campus after Friday prayers when they were beaten up by the mob . According to students, they were leaving the mosque when a group of men started following them. Shocked and confused by the sudden attack, the students looked around for help but people just stood there and watched.

"Me and my friend had gone to the mosque to offer namaz yesterday. Just after we left the mosque and were heading towards are bike, we were assaulted by a mob . We asked them why were we being targeted but they didn't say anything and just kept hitting us. We asked people for help but nobody intervened. It's shameful how everyone just stood there and watched while the mob attacked us with bricks and helmets," Aftab told India Today.

The victims suffered several injuries and were rushed to a local government hospital for treatment.

"Soon after the police arrived at the spot, we went to the hospital for checkup and returned to university campus after completing all the medical procedure. We told the faculty about incident and lodged a complaint with the university," he added.

When asked if they know why the mobattacked them or who they were, Aftab said, "We don't know who they were. We hardly step out of the university since we are from Jammu and Kashmir, there's always that constant fear of becoming a subject of such incident. We have never seen these people or know their identity or what provoked them to attack us. Maybe there's some political agenda behind this to disrupt the peace in the society by bringing in the Hindu-Muslim angle to it."

No matter which state a person is from, Aftab hopes that nobody else goes through the same fate as him and his friend. "I just hope quick actions are taken against the culprits so that nobody else goes through similar incident, no matter which state he belongs to."

The FIR has been filed under section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt and 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code in Mahendragarh police station against the alleged assaulters.

The incident came into light after pictures of one of the victims went viral.

Shocked and disturbed by the entire incident, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged her Haryana counterpart, ML Khattar, to ensure strict action.

Jammu & Kashmir's Ex Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, too, urged the authorities to take quick action against the violence. He also said that the incident goes against what PM Modi said in his speech at the Red Fort.

. . .
Without condoning such acts against innocents , i am a bit surprised that with the constant anti indian(code for anti hindu) demonstations in the valley , such acts have not hppnd before.
But it will be naive to think that this has taken place without some background as ten of thousands of muslim kashmiris are spread all over India and no one seems to target them , unless they start shit by taunting the locals ( cricket incident).

.
I think the hindus are going a little bit gaga for their own standards. They have been talking too heavy for their own soft fragile body. They should understand their position and place very well.
Otherwise if we have to talk in their own language in a show of strength,i am afraid we will have to break their chicken neck and utterly rip off their spine.
I hope before we get to that level.hindus understand it ,act accordingly and understand that Israel and uncle Sam will not save them in time of show down.

.
This will spread to all over india in the coming years. Its not just Kashmiris but even Muslims face the same .
