I guess it was a deliberate action to pull out the forces from those points cause military wants indian army to be up there,,YYYYYY
there is a lot of money spend by indians to stay there..;)
In reality when Pak troops were ordered to go back the Mujahids were stubborn to keep on fighting. You may have read some organisation of those militants vowed to keep on fighting. Indian soldiers after reaching those bankers recovered some bodies of Pak soldiers what they believed had been killed by the militants most probably due to conflict on continuation of war. That day your Army should have taken the lesson- Snakes are not to be kept pet.....

Three IAF aircrafts were lost in Op Safed Sagar,A MiG-21 piloted by Sqn Leader Ahuja was hit by a stinger missile, the pilot bailed out and was shot by Pak Army regulars,a MiG-27 piloted by Flt Leutenant Nachiketa due to Gun gas injestion at high altitude straffing,Nachi ejected and was taken a POW,another Mi-17 during straffing ops,all the four crews were martyred.

Hi,

It took 12 years for it to come out---kargil was indeed a victory for the millitary and a massive failure at the political end.

Sir, I don't mean to start a pi$$ing contest here. True, you did catch the IA with their pants down. They were idiots to let that happen.

Every single officer of the IA who flat out was responsible for negligence should have been fired. That did not happen. Sad...

However when they did get rolling, it was ugly for the PA. Yes, the political failure was the capstone of it all, and embarassing in the world view.

However, the military position also became untenable over time.

It was essentially a failure at the end zone both militarily, and politically.

I will refrain from further comment so as not to inflame passions.

But that is my opinion.

My only question is - why did PA think this was possible?

both sides......r u kidding
i think u forgot that it was initiated by pakistani army,so it was u who should have avoided that

yes in common terms it was a stalemate, but in strategic terms we won it,because we regained our positions which is considered as the highest battle ground in the world

you were large in no. and weapons with some foreign support despite of this you lost two jets which adds a lot to total demage. you know what i like about you....i only your strategy to cry just like a girl..as girl's tears are of high value same as your cry....Crying infront of Bill to stop the war was not the real victory son. the thing is you have tried every thing you had except nuke, but despite of this our soldier fought bravely...the problem was in politics and i think you were not with Nawaz Sharif at that time...keep crying baby..
