Al-Shabaab terrorists called the family of a girl they had just murdered amid yesterday's university massacre to phone the Kenyan president to demand the withdrawal of his troops from Somalia.

Fred Musinai said his daughter phoned him early yesterday morning to tell him about the attack, and at 1pm, he received another call from her handset.

The caller told Mr Musinai that his 21-year-old daughter, who was studying teaching, had just been murdered and urged him to pass on a message to the Kenyan president.

Kenyan ad Ethiopian military should withdraw from Somalia. They are the supporters of Al-Shabaab in order to increase the insecurity and fragmentation of Somalia.

The US and EU Governments should stop its financial and military aid to these 2 boot-licking countries against Somalia; the arms embargo should be lifted from the Somali government so it can form a capable security forces. Every effort has been made to get the arms embargo lifted, but the only thing the US and UK governments allow is AK-47 and ammunition. How can a country be sovereign and form capable security forces that can fight terrorist groups like Al-Shabaab if it is not allowed to import tanks, howitzers, APCs, and fighter planes? It is fine for countries like Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia to bring heavy weapons into Somalia; however, the Somali government who has sole responsibilities over Somalia is not allowed to form a capable security forces due to the arms embargo and financial controls that it is subjected to.

The persistent US and UK policies on Somalia and their support to Kenya and Ethiopia is what has kept Somalia in tatters. It was in 2006 that the Islamic Courts Union ended the Somali civil war, defeated the warlords, and restored stability into Somalia. Best believe that the US government was in full cooperation with the warlords. The US and UK governments have moved into plan B: In December 2006, they unleashed the Ethiopian military on the ground, with American and UK special forces supporting them, and American air power from the air that decimated the ill-equipped Islamic Courts Union (UIC) fighters in Somalia. Once the UIC was overwhelmed, they imposed a toothless government after another that is always in turmoil.

It was that invasion that Al-Shabaab came out. They initially started as a religious and nationalist movement, and successfully fought, with the support of other factions, against the Ethiopian invaders which they have managed to drive them out in 2009. The constant attacks of American air power against Al-Shabaab leaders, their later embrace of the bogeymen named Al-Qaeda, and their harsh interpretation of Islamic law is what turned the people of Somalia against Al-Shabaab.

Due to the lack of mainstream support from Somalis, the invasion of Kenya and their policies of creating a buffer state in Somalia, and the blind military aid that US and UK governments provide to Kenya and Ethiopia is what driving Al-Shabaab's madness against Kenya.

It is better people to have perspective when they are commenting on this issue. To the average Somali, Al-Shabaab and Kenya are 2 enemies, so let them destroy each other.

In his message to H.E. Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, the President said “It was with shock and deep sadness that I learned of the terrorist attack on a University in Kenya in which more than a hundred innocent civilians were killed and scores injured. It is particularly tragic that an institution of higher learning has been targeted in this cowardly act.

Please accept the heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies of the Government and people of India. We stand by the Government and people of Kenya in this hour of grief and pray for the speedy and full recovery of those who have been injured”.

Garissa attack: Kenya identifies one of four al Shabaab gunmen as son of government official | Zee News

Nairobi: Kenya on Sunday identified one of the al Shabaab gunmen who massacred students at a northeastern university as the son of a Kenyan government official, the interior ministry said.


Spokesman Mwenda Njoka said Abdirahim Abdullahi was one of the four gunmen who attacked the Garissa University College campus on Thursday, killing nearly 150 people.

"The father had reported to security agents that his son had disappeared from home... and was helping the police try to trace his son by the time the Garissa terror attack happened," Njoka told Reuters in a text message.

April 06, 2015, SPA -- Warplanes, reported to be from the Kenyan air force,
have hit the Gedo region in Somalia, apparently in retaliation for
the killing last week of 147 people at a Kenyan university campus,
the Somali website Garsoor News reported Monday, according to dpa.


Gedo, located near the border, is believed to house camps of
al-Shabaab, the Somali group which claimed Thursday's
attack.


Aircraft were hitting rural areas suspected to be al-Shabaab
hideouts, according to the report.

A source within the Kenyan police force who did not want to be named
said the planes were Kenyan. He said several al-Shabaab militants
were killed.

The air strikes started on Sunday, but the intended targets may have
dispersed in anticipation of the bombing, according to Garsoor News.
