I went through the thread, but no one talked about the goals of the war. What would be the goal?
1. Take Kashmir? Its possible if China is willing to take the risk, ground work has been done, the population already want independence
2. Severe NE states at Chicken neck? Population is not ready, as China has neglected this sector. Leaders and people who want independence there need support to create public opinion in favor of independence. Think creation of Bangladesh as a model. Find another Mujib and Awami League in NE states and win election. When 40 million people are ready for independence and Indian Army goes in to crush their movement, that will create a pretext for this war. But China has to have a long term game plan. I still don't see it.
As for disintegration of India, that also needs long term planning, but it will be harder to achieve because of easy logistics flow of armed forces and land connection. I think Kashmir and NE states goals are achievable, but disintegration of mainland India, not worth it. But keeping it destabilized and weak will be in the interest of China and its allies and that should be the extent of it.
Speaking of which, @
Chinese-Dragon, China cannot avoid the responsibilities of a super power, eventually you guys will come round, and I agree its not yet time for China to think like that. If you don't do it, run propaganda like the Western media does, you will forever be the No. 2, if that is what you are happy with. And I agree with @
Developereo on that.
