What's new

Two coal power plants of 660 megawatts in Sahiwal

If i will clip of the speech of your angel minister then?

yahi tu masla ha tum logo ka sath, samjhtay ho KPK mei farishton ki hakumat ha

They need loans and large funds which requires federal permission to obtain, create 50 MW hydro dams. Recently federal blocked KPK government to obtain loans. Hence in this retrospect, KPK minister said, they can build dams of such limited capacity with their own resources

Oh bhai

Do you know we are short by 10s of 1000s of mega watts of electricity?

Do you?

Run of river hydel adds at a time only in the range of 10 MW or at most 100 MW.

This is like a guy is dying of hunger, and instead of giving him plateful of meal,

you "due to political hatred", propose to give the dying man a grain at a time.

Please come out of this hateful ideology.

And learn a bit before spreading disinformation.

Be a pro-IK

but don't be anti-Pak.

because anyone opposing large power stations right now must be hanged for treason.

thank you.

Things are happening outside Punjab.

Right now 1000 MW each nuclear power plants in Karachi are being stopped by SHC.

Just imagine 2000 MW of electricity coming online.

Just imagine how it will change Karachi and Sindh.

And yet Sindh High court keeps on blocking them.
No one cares about karachi (or sindh), least of all sindhis themselves :D

The government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has approved the construction of 356 micro hydel stations with a power generation capacity of 35 megawatts (MW) with the help of non-government organisations (NGOs) in various parts of the province.

Work on various ongoing energy projects of oil, gas, thermal and hydel has begun through the utilisation of provincial-based natural resources, in a bid to make K-P a energy hub.

Various committees have been constituted for energy expertise to remove hurdles blocking various on-going energy projects in the province.

These decisions were taken by the Board of Directors for Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) during its second meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Tariq Iqbal Khan.

During the meeting, the organisation’s secretary gave a detailed presentation to the board members regarding the work pace and problems faced during the implementation of the projects.

He added that in keeping with the vision of change of the current provincial government, it has been decided to construct 356 community-based micro hydel stations through NGOs with the total cost of Rs4.7 billion from Hydel Development Funds (HDF).

These mini stations will be constructed in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batagram, Tor Ghar, Kohistan, Malakand, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Dir (Upper/Lower) and Chitral having total capacity of 35MW and so far six local NGOs have shown interest to develop these projects.

The board has given approval to start work on the large capacity of hydropower projects in the province although seven projects will be advertised in order to develop these in the private sector.

Khan said that K-P is blessed with abundant natural resources for oil and gas, thermal and hydel generation which should be utilised for curbing the current energy crisis in the country.

He further stressed to boost the work pace on the ongoing energy projects and planned to complete them within the stipulated time period.

Good thing. But let's not exaggerate it beyond a minimal thingy.

you know what percentage is 35MW of our national needs?

0.000000000000000001%

OK may be a bit ttoo many zeros.

but it doesn't matter once the zeros cross the limit of IK''s intellect.

basically small dams like these are for irrigation and drinking water purpose and making some amount of electricity for some local houses is not a bad idea

While some one is busy in burning Pakistan, someone is actually working to recover Pakistani economy and work on solving core issues with Pakistan. I.e. power

Yes.. same for reduction in loadshadding, and motorways finally have lights which was missing in 2012, and industialist not protesting against loadshadding.. all because of these power projects

In my native city Gujrat their is 10-12 hour load shedding...i was mocking u by saying that even Capital faces 6-7 hour load shedding then put urban areas out of equation...! and for these projects they have been annoucing these since 1.5 year..!

when they are going to start building it

Its up & ready on paper work.

Kala Bagh Dam, Bhasha Dam, along with small dams through out Pakistan, Thar coal power & gas project which was proven back in 2010 & construction on Nuclear power plants will solve energy problems in Pakistan once & for all.

Pakistan can also make largest every solar energy in Thar & Balochistan province, but no one cares.
