Twitter gets an Indian-American CEO - Parag Agrawal

Indians understood the industry that matters - if they have professionals who rank very highly and are promoted as a culture either in IT(massive change from Apu the gas station employee in Simpsons) or Bollywood and have their internal support system to push their own people then they deserve to lead. Now if this means their political views whether anti-Pakistan or Islamiphobic also come as part of this leadership package and it is acceptable to the shareholders of the company then Pakistanis can cry to their mommies or whatever and it wont matter jack. After all, Pakistani exports are limited to Textiles & football which NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT and their cultural impression is this..

Nothing to do with indians understanding it. IT came to india because of south indian culture of somewhat better honesty and workmanship/social justice and widespread prevalence of english,

Good for him, I don't get why you bhartis love to rub every single Indian achievement into our faces

I don't have to provide proofs since I work in the industry here and that too, for a multinational corporation just as big as microsoft, amazon or google, its a big name. the number of h1b visa employees including indians has taken a nose dive while the number of american employees has sharply risen. I have direct reports whose visas have been denied for renewals on account of the fact that their skill sets are readily available in the u.s. and thus, they are not needed in the u.s. anymore, hence the denial of their visa renewal. they had to move back to india and though they still work for me, they have to work remotely from india (but on our business hours schedule, day here, night there) and on an indian salary, still a decent salary but frankly, it is peanuts on the dollar compared to what they used to make.

Moving forward, all of our open positions dictate that the candidate MUST be a u.s. citizen or a permanent resident (green card). the same holds true for microsoft, I know this because we are a partner company to microsoft and work closely with them on a number of technologies. but since y' all asked, here are a few hints. ;)
Any figures about H1B visas being reduced? Aside from the general border restrictions during the pandemic. I was not aware this is policy.
@Chhatrapati
You are a liar! Prove it!

Hint: go to my visa jobs and they have real LCA data to prove you wrong.

Just curious, what about the higher IQ Pakistanis? The IQ is something you guys flaunt all the time, but always fall behind the Jews and Hindus.

The real IQ-killers IE East Asians are no where to be seen here

so I mean you should be smart enough to take the hint I am throwing here...
Quite sad really. Our best and brightest are leaving for US. We should retain them more.
Only way to stop it is if US stops those H1B visas

will be blessing in disguise for India tbh

who is butthurt? likes of you run after the likes of me begging to find a way to work for me. so, shhhhhhhhhhh... 🤫

and besides, for the 2nd biggest country in the world, all you have to show for is a half a dozen ceos in a country 1/3rd your size while your comparable competition nation, China, is well on its way to being the largest economy in the world (and history) and controls more than half of the global economy. just dont get why are you so proud of having a few ceos to show for...but whatever rocks your boat man, enjoy! :enjoy:

nopes. won't work. indians will find a way, even through gay marriages if they have to so they can stay in india. yes, this is happening.

WTF.. Alot of people around the world were legitimately campaigning for banning Indians from twitter because they shixt allover the platform and now you bring us an Indian CEO.. Twitter will become like whatsapp fake news viral in India it will turn into an absolute cesspool..

You would see tweets like ''A Macaque Monkey has been instated as the new premier minister of Sri lanka'' Trending the sad part is you think this is a joke but it is not I have seen worse tweets then that trend in India.. I am a legit surviving witness and living proof who has witnessed the impossible happening in India and have seen it trend
Twitter is already knee-deep in Indian shit.

H1Bs are hardly getting to the top, their chance of getting PR is rare. Compared to Indians going on Student visas like this guy who went to stanford.

They are the ones who make up most of the diaspora. My cousin went to the US on an H1B for a project and was back in 2 years.
We are happy about the H1Bs it retains the talents and makes us money. Unlike the ones immigrate as students.

Not necessarily, Indian origin folks succeeding overseas is not necessarily a bad thing. Their benefits include-
1. Source of Investments in Indian economy
2. Legal transfer of Intellectual Property (Example - Outsourcing Business practice)

Also impact of Brain drain has reduced over the last decade for India

The rise of Indians in US corporate world, speaks more about the equitable and rewarding culture of the US, than the talent of Indians.

What I find most amusing is that these same Indians celebrate the lack of the same culture in India - openly and proudly discriminating against their own Muslim citizens in the all segments of society.

these same ceos, had they stayed in india instead of leaving india and migrating to the u.s. , wouldn't have made it past 1st level project managers if that.

having said that though, all is not rosey here in the u.s. even though most new hires in the recent years are u.s. citizens in the software industry, there is still discrimination against an african american or latino american computer science graduate. two graduates from the same university, similar 3 years experience, same gpa, but one is white while the other is black. the black can expect far tougher interview questions and will most probably get passed up for the white dude. so the u.s. corporate world's equitable and rewarding culture is riddled with problems and has a long LONG way to go before it is truly equitable and rewarding.
