I don't think China copies at all. Let's take the J-11 for example, it has 3/4 of the original Su-27 taken out, thus it can't be considered as a "duplicate."

Let's now take a look at the high speed rail-system, it was initially a 200km/h tech package imported from Jap/Germany. Then the Chinese twisted it slightly and developed the world's first formally approved 350 km/h track system-That's a 75% increase over that was analyzed and imported. Is this considered "copying?" I would say not.

Now let's look at the J-10 and the upcoming J-XX, these are developments run by the Chinese themselves. This certainly, cannot be called duplicates.

I think Indian logic is flawed. Perhaps a little self-degradation might advance the race as a whole, if done so properly.

dude you know... India falls under the second category. It gets help from developed nations for almost everything. Hence, other people are doing it FOR India. THAT, is a derivative of copying. PAYING SOMEONE ELSE TO SIT YOUR EXAM. That is not only copying, THAT IS CHEATING!

not an insult dude...well I have done my master in computer science and have worked for worlds top most companies by sitting in India....i m here in london on deputation as customer needs me...will be back in India very soon...as the real life and excitement is there not in this developed countries...)

So first China and now Japan, I'm guessing S. Korea is next? I guess Indians have grudges against the whole of the Far-East. You know, you fellas are the ones who smell like rotten rodents, and I'm not wrong in saying so. There was an incident where this Indian and caucasion met for the first time, and they shook hands. After a 30 year career in R,D and M for a major US corporation I can say that all engineering teams will copy as much as they can within the limitations of their own access to necessary materials and manufacturing processes. However, what is also true is that they respect patents and intellectual property laws. It is OK to copy if you respect the intellectual property laws that give the "first inventor" a fair period to enjoy the benefits of their invention. However, it is very dangerous to copy without understanding the science behind a design. Doing so may cause the product to fail without explanation and damage the reputation of the copying company.

depends on what you mean by excitement, excitement in terms of entertainment or in terms of your employment. I'd say you're at the wrong place at the wrong time, Britain has many opportunities, albeit it is slightly conservative. Then again, no hard learning more about the roots of the previous superpower, is there?
