Thats true but the force didnt change the requirements for Bayraktar 100 times.
The base stayed the same,the changes are mostly add-on's,the only structural change was for the sat dish.
If you look at the take of and landing of the ANKA,its not very stable,the wings look fragile.

We will see the MALE of Baykar. ANKA was going bad but its not 100% TAIs fault. Look at ANKA A and the versions we are talking right now. From where to where.

Yüksek Faydalı Yük Kapasiteli (YFYK) İHA projesi ile, dünya İnsansız Hava Aracı (İHA) pazarındaki orta irtifada uzun havada kalışlı (Medium Altitude Long Endurance, MALE) İHA'ların tümünden daha yüksek faydalı yük taşıma kapasitesine sahip, keşif, gözetleme, arama-kurtarma, sinyal istihbaratı ve muharip görevler için uygun, gerektiğinde yüksek irtifa operasyonları için de kullanılabilecek yeni bir İHA Sistemi, tamamıyla milli imkanlar kullanılarak tasarlanacak ve üretilecektir.

YFYK İHA, 750kg'a kadar faydalı yük taşıma kapasitesine sahip olacak; elektro-optik ve geniş alan gözetleme kameraları, sentetik açıklık radarı, iletişim istihbarat sensörleri gibi yükleri farklı kombinasyonlarda taşıyabilecek ve TÜRKSAT uydusu üzerinden kontrol ile uzun menzilli operasyonlarda kullanılabilecektir.

YFYK İHA'da, TEI tarafından milli imkanlarla geliştirilip üretilen 170 HP azami güce sahip, 20 000 ft irtifaya kadar güç kaybı yaşamayan çift turbolu piston motorlardan 2 adet kullanılması planlanmaktadır.

Hava aracının aviyonik bileşenleri de milli imkanlarla geliştirilmiş birimlerden oluşacaktır.

To early for that but as far as I remember some months ago we were talking about TAI partnership with Agusta Westland for AW609 VTOL manufacturing.

Bismarck means MALE-drones with VTOL capabilities not helicopters.

I dont know for any MALE UAV with VTOL capability. I understood what he asked for and said to him that its to early. If we want good VTOL UAV and to be MALE with the desired capability we must learn how to make it. I hope the joint venture with AW will happen and we will be able to take as much knowledge as we can from that. I am not sure if VTOL normal helicopter type rotor engine UAV will be able to complete the requirements in order to be MALE.

That's also true but, with every change of demand...TAI wasted years on the changes.... Project exceeded 10 year...

Which has made TAI more proficient and delivered a high end product like ANKA today.

There's another engine development in works, a bigger brother PD-210 which is more powerful.. i think it will meet the needs of a HALE class UAV.

A new family of unmanned aerial vehicles has been recently showcased in China. Chinese research and production company Tengoen Technology unveiled two fixed-wing UAVs – the TA001 “Striking Hawk” and the TB001 “Twin Tailed Scorpion” – and two rotary wing (VTOL) UAVs called the HA001 “Featherless Arrow” and the HB002 “Xiao Li Guang.”

The “Twin Tailed Scorpion” is of particular interest, since it is a twin propeller-driven Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAV. This armed reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has just made its maiden flight, according to janes.com.

Three prototypes of this aircraft are under construction. The TB001 has a wingspan of 20 meters/65.6 feet; a maximum takeoff weight (mtow) of 2,800 kg/5,952 pounds; and an operating ceiling at 8,077 meters/26,250 feet. The endurance is 35 hours and the mission radius is 280 km/151 nm with line-of-sight communications links and more than 3,000 km/1,620 nm using satellite communications. The TB001 can also be armed with the FT-8D, FT-9 and FT-10D air-to ground missiles, as well as the FT-7 glide bomb.


According to.ainonline.com, the other fixed wing UAV, the single-engine TA 001, has an MTOW of 1,200 kg/2,646 pounds, and an endurance of 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the HA001 and HB001 have an mtow of 450 kg/992 pounds and 280 kg/617 pounds with endurance of six hours and five hours, respectively.

According to the company, both can carry weapons. These UAV can be used for reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, material supply and border patrol missions.

Tengoen Technology was formed in January 2016 by Chinese aviation technology firms and a state-owned investment company.
