What's new

Turkish Unmanned Vehicle Programs

Actually, Turkey has the technology to make it. Here is an example. research funded by Tubitak.
I has 3 awareness system to pass by rocks.
it has system to see the debt of water
also, the location, direction and the temperature could be known. Its even a university project, imagien what happens when Aselsan or other big companies touch it.

look at this one too

Wow! The first 2 videos are awesome. With the proper masking I would not be able to recognize if its real fish or a robot. Congratulations to our guys!

I think that this is one of those projects that should have been kept secret. Now that they know it looks like a stingray, if we even get a chance to use it in real warfare, it will be easily identified. What is the point of declaring the shape of a stealth technology?

Also when considering strange type of announcement, I guess there are some other motives behind it. Like giving message of "don't approach to eastern mediterranean" to the related sides.

This vehicle is made for %100 Urban Warfare due to ground clearence and suspension.
We are looking forward to seeing operational in some streets.

we should wrap some kevelar around the turret and vehicle :)

for what and whom bro? it is unmanned:) It would be waste of money.

Guys lets copy the picture of this beast to land vehicles section.

I do not think cavelar is needed. Probably most of the systems like engine, battery pack etc. is protected.

And cavelar is not so protective in combat situations. You just do not cover vehicles with it.

need much more improvement for that. An hidden person with rpg can take out this.
Well the beauty of unmanned system's is that you don't need armor because there's no people inside it. If we were to add armor it would just increase the weight and thus it would require more power. This could easily quadruple costs and even then, what's the point? The optics on the RCWS probably costs more than everything else and adding armor to it would NOT protect the optics.

Who cares if one of these get destroyed? It's just a machine.

Yes, unmanned machines are not meant to be protected unless it has amazing capabilities and expensive price.

Tarantula is cheap, affordable, basic unmanned platform which has only 3km control distance. If it had SatCom capaility, 250+km operational range, ATGM strike capability, i would also expect era armor and maybe even aks. But its just a platform with 70km total range (35km operational range), 3km control range (probably meant to be used in urban operations rather than operating in rural areas), one UKSS.

New 8x4 UGV "Tarantula" armed with Aselsan SARP, developed by TEAS and Aselsan. It has a payload capacity of 800kg.

More details:
-max range for control 3km
-70km range
-runs on battery
-max 8 hours endurance
-weight 2 ton
-max payload 800kg

Once the satellite based control will be added, range will chane to unlimited(for 8 hours) as Katmerciler did..(actually Aselsan did it for them)

You only have to use antitank weapon to stop this monster as 7.62 will do nothing to it..

On the other hand, it might be used to supply soldiers with ammunition during the war when its too danger and you are watched by UAV(lets say in war with France or USA)

Good job Turkey!

Beautiful, can't wait to see it.

"WATTOZZ is an unmanned underwater vehicle. By appearance, it is completely in the form and size of a stingray fish. With this feature, it's unique in the world.

WATTOZZ is controlled cryptographic acoustic sound waves similar to that of animals such as whales dolphins underwater. It has almost the same appearance, size and movement ability with a live stingray fish. With it's silicone-coated outer surface, as well as the ability to stand still on the sea floor in sleep mode and the inner shell covered with the signal absorbing paint, it is impossible for the radars to detect WATTOZZ neither on the sea floor nor on the move.

WATTOZZ, normally used as an observation vehicle, has the ability to transport and explode a bomb by sticking it's target with it's electromagnetic magnets."

Glider UUVs are more feasible than this project, cheaper and durable in the water. There are a few commercial projects available from some companies and there is so far a startup company in Turkey dedicated the whole job on the design of a glider, with foldable propellers.

A glider simply is an underwater glider, uses stream or buoyancy forces to move backward or forward w/o need of a propeller. Consuming quite a tiny bit of power for each turn of buoyancy change.

An inertial PS is used for location sensing as well as with surfacing capability, correlation with GPS satellites can be achieved.

Moreover, a foldable propeller is meant for gaining over stream based forces to push the vessel forward in emerceny, or grounding.
