What's new

Turkish Special Operations Forces

SDV (SEAL Delivery Vehicle)

Thes are not new stuff actually, first SDV's of the SAT donated by the US form the beginning of th 80's. These are probably the new mini type ones...
Yes,thank you for correcting me.I think these are the custom SDV's that they ordered from Italy. At the beginning they tried to procure Mark VIII's from US but the price per system was 3 million $.So they ordered from Italy. All of these are mentioned in the book by Ali Turksen.Altough the numbers may be incorrect, give or take...

EDIT: Numbers are correct, there is also a unit that operates these SDV's called SAİV.

.
I just realized that SAT used CANSOFCOM footage. The SDV we saw is CANSOFCOM's.But we do have SDV's,i don't understand why SAT would do this...

A shot from footege of CANSOFCOM posted way before ours

^^^Just for the remind they ere changed all of their rifle inventory with HK416A5 assault rifles HK MG4 machine guns and HK G28 DMRs. Nowadays they are using M4s as training rifle. These photos are before from May when the HK weapons din't arrive yet...

Why do not they train with the rifles which they will use later on?
It makes no sense to train on a different kind of rifle. Hope they will also use the HK's in trainings.
Or they keep the M4's also for real sitution fights!

Every firearm has a barrel life. Why waste the newly procured rifles when you can use M4A1s, AR-15 derivatives which are already in service and some sort of milestone has been achieved in terms of barrel life. Its just one big reason. There can also be other reasons.

Usually, special forces get the rifles which they want and best for.

Bro,there cant be another reason, its just stupid not to train with the right rifles.
You have to get used to the rifle you are going to use in operations.
They are not special forces for nothing, who cares about costs?
Resmen salaklik bunlarin yaptigi.

The both rifles have same basic sizes, weignt, mechanism and caliber. Their fire dynamics are pretty same to. So they don't want to damage or harm their HK rifles during the physical and candidate course trainings. For the combat trainings or the qualified range trainings, they use their main rifles that they are using in real combat situations.

Also %70 of the modern military trainings are based on physical strenght. That means during these types of trainings weapons just turned out a metal stick part of the equipment simulating the real combat weight. US also do the same during the course & physical trainings . The course rifles are based on basic M4 models withtout any extra addition on them like PEQs, electro-optical & optical sights, flashlights or foregrips. But for the combat trainings or real combat zone they use it with SOCOM Mod I/II modification packages and the rifles they dont use in course trainings like Scar L/H variants..

Burada da her konuda mülayim olmuş arkadaşlar görmek sevindirici doğrusu.

My post was for the shooting part, not the physical training.
He said ''barrel life'',as for the phsical part, they can use a wooden rifle with the same weight, same size, for all i care.

The MultiCam Ops Core helmets that we saw first were testing only. Army SF guys bought only 200 units of It. The foliage green models that we see in these photos are from the first standard usage package instead of old PASGT variants..

Also notice their plate carriers, designed by the officers of the Army SF and custom made by a private company only for Army SF. Including all of the pouches and MOLLE ultility belts with the suspenders. Also It has mini plates in It's left and right sides, not only the front/back...
