Cumhurbaşkanlığı Külliyesinde düzenlenen nişan tevcih töreninde; TBMM Başkanı İsmail Kahraman, Başbakan Binali Yıldırım, Genelkurmay Başkanı Orgeneral Hulusi Akar, Anayasa Mahkemesi Başkanı Zühtü Arslan, Başbakan Yardımcıları Numan Kurtulmuş ve Veysi Kaynak, Dışişleri Bakanı Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Ekonomi Bakanı Nihat Zeybekci, İçişleri Bakanı Süleyman Soylu, Kültür ve Turizm Bakanı Nabi Avcı ile Maliye Bakanı Naci Ağbal da hazır bulundu.

Törende bir konuşma yapan Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan, “Cumhuriyet Nişanı”nın, Türkiye ile mensubu bulunduğu ülke arasındaki dostça ilişkilerin geliştirilmesini ve iki ülke vatandaşlarının birbirine yakınlaşmalarını sağlayan, özellikle yabancı devlet adamlarına verilen sembol olduğunu söyledi.

Suudi Arabistan Veliaht Prensi Muhammed bin Nayif'in, Türkiye ile Suudi Arabistan arasındaki dostane ilişkilerin geliştirilmesine her daim büyük katkılar sağladığını belirten Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan, iki millet arasında kökünü tarihten, aynı değerleri paylaşmaktan alan dostluk ve kardeşlik bağlarının daha da perçinlendiğine işaret ederek, Veliaht Prens’e hitaben, "Tefrikanın, çatışmaların, terörün bölgemizi esir aldığı zor bir dönemde bu gayretlerinizle barış, istikrar ve huzurun ikamesine destek oldunuz" diye konuştu.

Türkiye’nin Suudi Arabistan ile ilişkilerinin, ortak çabalar ve karşılıklı atılan adımlarla tarihteki en müstesna günlerini yaşadığını vurgulayan Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan, şunları söyledi: “İki ülke arasındaki iş birliğinin her alanda gelişmesi, zenginleşmesi, yeni boyutlar kazanması, bölgesel ve küresel istikrar için de fırsatlar sunuyor. Ülkemizin içinden geçtiği kritik bir süreçte, geniş bir heyetle gerçekleştirdiğiniz bu ziyaret, ilişkilerimizin geleceğine dair verilmiş çok anlamlı bir mesajdır. 15 Temmuz kanlı darbe girişimi sonrası milletimiz ve ülkemizle sergilediğiniz dayanışma için bir kez daha teşekkür ediyorum. As the regular Turkish press is tongue-tied by the state-of-emergency, one has to take what one can get. What's important for Turks to realize is that so many people get G.I. stuff without the benefit of intelligent replies like Sinan has supplied.

I wonder. I think Yetkin and Kanli ask questions in their columns because they won't take the risk of making declarative statements and Selvi hasn't written much since the coup attempt.

Thats unfortunatley not true anymore. Did you miss the leaks by RedHat that showed that the editor of Hürriyet was in contact with Erdogans in law son? He stepped down but I doubt that things will change.

Media doesn't have right to insult, or support Terror organisations. I fully support AKP's policy against Fethollah Terror Organisation..

But AKP should also fight against PKK media, like they do against Fethollah media. Police shut down IMC TV (one of the official PKK TVs) and it is a good start.

True, but I think AKP need support of CHP here.
Already after IMC shut down the media in the west restrat about free speach is dead in Turkey (which is kinda funny because they have say the same thing hundreed time now and yet.....). CHP should distinc himself reporting the opposition media still exist, but pro PKK media are the one targeted by the govt.

(Haven't read the article) No bro, iran is never to be trusted under those ayatollahs. Their words are one thing, but their actions/agenda is against us. They are against the pipeline between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, they support Armenia over us and Azerbaijan, they have been running sectarianist policies for decades, turning Syria and Iraq into satellite states (against our interests), they support(ed) rival of KRG's barzani in the 90's and now (against our interest), they likely support the pkk or at least redirect the pkk to focus on us and pressure the KRG etc. They seem to be only pro-Turkey in front of cameras. We can only be friends with Iran if we stand by and let Iran take the cake all the time. Not gonna happen anymore.

Both countries have a responsibility to show the world that sectarianism has no place in todays world. I'm seeing this as a good gesture for the Muslim community (even though I'm not) may good relations between both countries show Shias and Sunnis all over the world that they dont have to kill each other.

Turkey and Iran are the history-wise, power-wise the leading countries in the region. If things could be worked out it would bring great stability and prosperity to the region. France and Germany have been at war how many times? Destroyes each others cities how many times?

If those countries can have good relations nowadays, so can Iran and Turkey.
