Just don't bring them back here. We already have more than enough of our share of refugees.
Apperantly prime minister lied. Turkish navy doesnt have presence there. And Armed Forces refused to send a ship after considering operational costs.
Whole cabinet is filled with liars and thieves.
Your ignorance is a shame.
TCG Gediz is close to Honk Kong. She temporarily suspended her Japan deployment to search for the migrants.
Like which one? Those three are already the richest in the region, only India is left but....

The Turkish navy is carrying out efforts to reach Rohingya Muslims stranded in boats off the coast of Thailand and Malaysia, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said.
Addressing a group of young people at Çankaya Palace May 19, Davutoğlu said that Turkey was doing its best to reach Rohingya Muslims at sea with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the help of a ship from the Turkish Armed Forces already sailing in the region.
Some 7,000 to 8,000 Rohingya and Bangladeshi migrants are currently thought to be in the Malacca Straits, unable to disembark because of crackdowns on trafficking networks in Thailand and Malaysia, their primary destination.
Boats carrying about 500 members of Myanmar’s long-persecuted Rohingya Muslim community washed ashore in western Indonesia on May 10, with some people in need of medical attention, a migration official and a human rights advocate said.
The men, women and children arrived on two separate boats, holding 430 people and 70 people respectively, said Steve Hamilton, deputy chief of mission at the IOM in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital.
Rohingya Muslims have suffered for decades from state-sanctioned discrimination in Myanmar.
Attacks on the religious minority by Buddhist mobs in the last three years have sparked one of the biggest exoduses of boat people since the Vietnam War, sending 100,000 people fleeing, according to Chris Lewa, director of the Arakan Project. The project has monitored the movements of Rohingya for more than a decade.
Tightly confined and with limited access to food and clean water, Lewa said she worries that the migrants’ health is steadily deteriorating. Dozens of deaths have been reported in the last few months.

Turkish military ship joins efforts to reach Rohingya Muslims - DIPLOMACY

Ohh what a wonderful news source it is. Its not even a news report. Its a column. And Yeniçag is no different than Sözcü or Zaman. But you're the genius, who am I to question that!
how you love to tirannise everyone who doesn't think like yourselves. that pic is from gediz's visit to port klang, malaysia on 3-5 may 2015. and gediz never suspended her current course. she's in qingdao, china right now. so, all in all, davutoğlu openly lied. and whoever gave that negative rating to @Alienoz_TR please take it back.
Turkish Navy frigate to visit Qingdao
Gediz in hong kong

TCG Gediz Qingdao Askeri Limanı’na vardı - YENİ ASYA
1.Traditionally/historically we, BD, always maintained the closest relations with Turkey/Turks. This goes back to the time of British occupation when we used to offer the Friday Khutba to the Sultan at Istanbul. Since we considered him the Amir ul Mominin, the Bengali Muslim soldiers deployed against the Turks in Palestine had refused to fire on his soldiers. The British thereafter had disbanded the Bengali Muslim Paltans. My own grandfather was one of those who had refused to fight the Turks. Sadly the same cannot be said of other Muslim soldiers fighting for the British. For instance, my parent unit in PA was deployed in Palestine. It had 50% Sikhs and 50% Punjabi Muslims. By the end of WW I it had suffered casualty which exceeded its strength.
2. The Khilafat Movement to save the Caliphate from attacks by Christian nations was born in our land. People donated willingly and heavily. There are instances where even little girls in school donated gold ear rings for the Turks. There was a large contingent of volunteers who had served under Mostafa Kamal. After the war Kamal asked them to settle in Izmir area as returning to a British colony would be unsafe. Even a bank was organized out of the donated funds remaining. I heard it still exists in Turkey but don't know the name.
3. When Turkish troops landed in Cyprus to protect the Turkish population, BD under Gen Zia ur Rahman was the first and only country to recognize the Turkish Republic of Cyprus.
4. However, our current govt is too close to India which is allergic to our getting nearer to any Muslim nation. They want us to become secular to suit them.
5. We know the Rohingya leadership is close to your President and PM, and meet them often. We know you want to help without any limit but cannot because of the stance/attitude of our govt. But people in BD understand all these and appreciate your role here. Thank you, Turkey.
Everyone with a descent level of logic will get that pic wouldnt be from China. I could have just visit DZKK's website and pick one from his visit to Honk Kong. But instead I just googled TCG Gediz and put the first pic I saw to inform people about the surface combatant we had deployed.
Let me summarize one by one from what I've heard from a shipmate.
- Firstly Gediz suspends HEF (Operations & Training) activities amid the government's request to support the SAR for the Migrants
- Not much later, DZKK objects the new task because of the fact that Gediz wouldn't make it at the 125th Anniversary of Ertugrul at the right time in Japan, reasoning that such an effort that requires excellence in cooperation with the local navies which means new comms establishment with those that doesn't support Link 11-16, although you can communicate with commercial lines but due to DZKK regulations any ship that communicates with other friendly ships during an op requires encrypted comms. And its beyond the N4 plannings of Gediz. But since then no other news have developed.
. what is your norm in saying "it's not from china"? you expect pagodas all over the place LOL. you say "i've heard from shipmate" as if that's a very reliable source and debunk a column writer who has very good insider info? what i'm trying to say is, davutoğlu openly lied by making that statement, for, in 18. of may Gediz was already en route to Qingdao (she left hong kong on may 17). so instead of making statements likeEveryone with a descent level of logic will get that pic wouldnt be from China
you better educate yourself. next time, in lieu of writing half-a$$ed excuses, just say "you're right mate, davutoğlu lied". i don't like @Alienoz_TR (last time i checked, he was too much into ISIL), but as our forefathers said "yiğidi öldür, hakkını yeme".Your ignorance is a shame
@telkon i wont take it back i explain why in next part, @Neptune, mate dont mind about that, no need to waste time for such debate.
@telkon @Alienoz_TR Your sources is laughable and well known to target turkish state ,while their only aim to damage AKP ,they dont care about honour of state. All in all,his way of telling isnt appropiate and his message that i give negative rating is clearly much different than his messages later on .( for @Alienoz_TR)
@telkon,you are not someone to lecture Neptune about this issue, everyone knows well his comments and infos are trustworthy ,while the informations he given is clear.
Also TSK is army of this country, and president is the " chief" as stated in the law, so they will fullfill the strategy of Turkey republic. From the humanity side ( let it from being a political thing for AKP) ,the logical is one that the ship being sent for SAR operation for refugees in sea and i think our navy has that humanity among the other countries who sent their ships to search for Malaysian airways plane ( sure they were rich people) ,while they dont move their boats know near to those seas for refugees ( australia, vietnam, india , US and china )
Yet among this issue, TCG gediz is on route for 125th anniversary of ertuğrul frigate incident and this is main task, also other reasons @Neptune mentioned, they objected and most probably sailing on expected route. Its not like there is no presence to send , i can tell you it would cost like 500k dollar to send a midsized ship to there ( considering the wages of staff is already paid even ship doesnt sail ) and 100k is more worthy than 9000 lives.
Also now it seems like countries in the region begin to coordinate with the voices raising from the world ,and need for TCG Gediz no longer valid.
