The vehicle is also in service with the Turkish armed forces and it was deployed during the fighting near the Turkish-Syrian border.

The Kirpi MRAP was selected by the Turkish armed forces with a initial contract for 468 vehicles but the production was stopped for some financial reasons and only 278 vehicles were delivered to the Turkish army. In 2015, the production started again to complete the delivery to Turkey.

The Kirpi MRAP was also produced for the export market and the first customer was Tunisia, which has ordered 40 vehicles.

According an interview with Mister Yasin Öztürk from BMC, the Company will now produce Kirpi MRAP vehicles for Pakistan.

The Turkish Company BMC is one of the largest commercial vehicle manufacturers in Turkey. Its products include buses, trucks, and military vehicles.

The Kirpi MRAP was unveiled in June 2016 during the International Defense Exhibition Eurosatory. The vehicle is based on an BMC truck chassis. The Kirpi is a combat vehicle in the category of MRAP with an all-welded steel armoured monocoque hull with a V-shaped. It offers high level of protection against firing of small arms, blast of mines and IEDs.

Tunisia first ordered MRAPs with SLAT armor and now with Aselsan Falconeye/DAS system and RCWS installed. Very smart. Only negative point is that the RCWS is Korean apparently and not Turkish. This is one of those markets where we can earn a lot if we manage to breakthrough.

This is not how deals like that calculated!
That package of 35 vehicles might include training of personal, spare parts(including spare engines), service etc. so it is not that simple. No one just buys vehicles only unless they have established support services (Industry).
