RAWALPINDI: The Turkish Deputy Chief of General Staff, General Umit Dundar Thursday called on Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ, Inter Services Public Relations said.

According to the ISPR, the media wing of the military, the Army Chief and visiting Turkish General exchanged views on matters of professional mutual interest. They also agreed on forming joint training programme to combat terrorism.

General Umit Dundar lauded Pakistan’s role for peace in the region and its fight against terrorism, the ISPR added.

Earlier, Turkish called on Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman.

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) presented the guard of honour.

Both the dignitaries remained together for some time and discussed matters of professional interest and areas of further co-operation.

They also exchanged souvenirs on this occasion.

Pakistan Army has been fighting the cancer of terrorism since long and the same has been widely acknowledged as well as praised by Top Militaries of the world. We know that Turkiye is also facing the issues in the same subject and both countries can learn a lot through exchanging views and participating in combined exercises and providing training to each other.

Pakistan Army has been fighting the terrorism without any difference not just for the safety of Pakistan but for the whole region as well.

There are projects between Pakistan an Turkey but the vast majority are situated in Punjab. Turkey assisted Punjab to set up the Dolphin Force, working in collaboration with Rescue 1122, Pak Turk schools. Turkey is a powerful nation with strong institutions.

There are projects between Pakistan an Turkey but the vast majority are situated in Punjab. Turkey assisted Punjab to set up the Dolphin Force, working in collaboration with Rescue 1122, Pak Turk schools. Turkey is a powerful nation with strong institutions.

IMO, the rest of rest of the provinces is not prominent because respective Governments did not approach for the same. Just look at PPPP working and for a contract in such fields, their first demand came as Kick Back % that many investors fears Mr. 10%. KPK/PTI is progressing well but somehow, they back tracks where it says PMLn (read political rivalry) here. Though KPK wasn't supported with budget a lot but since CPEC, is getting better. Baluchistan is not considered much nor the elected Government has the guts though Central has to take care for the business. In past, ironically, less attention given to Baluchistan however, this time the picture is different especially, Gwadar has earned a lot for Baluchistan and progressing further. Actually, most spending is done by Punjab, the PMLn headquarter hence most developments in there otherwise, Turkiye has no partial/selective interest in province alone or with PMLn.

Beside these projects that Turkiye wouldn't be taking side with any province but Government of Pakistan, Turkiye is already interested for cooperation in many fields and it would be interesting if we go for Joint Ventures in defence related departments that both can learn a lot while exchange of ideas and experience can benefit us in long run.

Actually it's proxies like TTP etc. It's a multinational efforts. All the misguided folks are grouped under PKK/ PYD etc. but the ropes are in the hands of a singular authority. Radicalization of leftists has enormously contributed. Armanians also joined in large numbers. Turkish forces have found that when male terrorists are killed their cohorts fire bullets in the private areas of the dead bodies and then leave. It has become apparent that many are uncircumcised...
