Turkish FM condemns Israeli 'plan' to support PKK

Davutoglu responds to Lieberman's reported plan to arm PKK in order to harm Turkey, says his country will not be blackmailed.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu on Sunday condemned the plan proposed by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, in which Israel should punish Turkey by supporting the terrorist organization PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party).

"No one will be able to blackmail us," said Davutoglu during a press conference in Ankara. "We hope that Israel's denial [of supporting the PKK] will also be accompanied by actions."

Davutoglu said that the PKK has turned into a tool for anyone who wants to harm Turkey. "Every time someone wants to bother Turkey he uses the PKK," he said. "It is important that our Kurdish brothers pay attention to this."

According to a report in Yedioth Ahronoth, Lieberman assembled a team to discuss a possible retaliation against Turkey. According to the report, the team recommended to Lieberman that Israel should cooperate with the PKK and even consider arming it with weapons. Another suggestion was to offer assistance to the Armenians and file UN reports against Turkey for a violation of the rights of minorities in the country.

However, sources in the Foreign Ministry who were involved in the discussion told Haaretz that the recommendations made were the opposite of what was published in the media Friday. "There were various ideas," a senior foreign ministry official said, "but the foreign ministry's main recommendation to Lieberman following that discussion was to take steps to prevent a further escalation with Turkey.

The relationship between the 2 sides have hit bottom but i don't believe Israel and Turkey are heading towards a conflict. But Israel should reconsider its position since Turkey is no Palestine or Lebanon where they could just walk in and bombard the crap out of them.

This is in actuality good news for Turkey because if Israel openly supports the PKK which is classified as a terror group by the entire world then the reputation of Israel will further be tarnished & the country will go from by many in the West from a victim of terror to a supporter of terror.

Turkish support for Hamas however does not extend to the point of arming them, in the past Turkey attempted to negotiate a peace between Hamas & Israel but to no avail unfortunately.

The fallout of such a move by Israel makes you ask how could the people of Israel elect such incompetent nutbags into office in the first place, these nutjobs have themselves to blame & alone are responsible for the death of the Turkish-Israeli alliance who were openly calling Erdogan "Israels best friend" prior to 2009.

In contrast to Erdogan that made silly statements and then retracted them, Liberman did not say anything at all. Just made some "leak" with rumors and speculations.

First I thought that thats leak is very idiotic thing. But then I thought: hellm Erdogan is trolling Israel all the time, why not troll him back?
