Turkish F-16s are going to Greece

inshallah bro 😅
You might want to add that there is no war at all. Present Turkey does not have openly hostile ties with Russia; given the Mexican standoff between Europeans, you guys and the Russians, you might end up getting sucked into a combat that you don't want, only to be discarded later by European countries/NATO.

.
NATO is against Russia & China generally speaking, NATO stood besides Turkey after it shot down the intruding Russian Su-24, that included Greece.

Not like he's capable of anyways, Russia is a weak and poor country, its only power is against lesser nations and to back NATO away by taunting its nuclear weapons. Conventionally, Russia has no chance. Some individual European nations, once they decide to fully militarize their economy, would wreak havoc on Russian forces.

Turkey won't start a war with Greece unless they want to be kicked out of NATO.
Minorities are easily dealt with.
If russia was this weak NATO would have no purpose

NATO isn't just against Russia, it's against any threat.

NATO was formed before Soviet collapse, a time which they were a much bigger threat.

A war with Russia would be costly for Europe, Europe has to be united to keep Russia at bay. A United Europe and US would lead to an assured victory against Russia, albeit, as I said, costly.

.
NATO had only one purpose: to stop the Soviet expansion into Europe and the warm seas.

After 1999, this aim was evolved into move towards the regions where the Russian hegemony had collapsed, and leaving no room for the Soviet-like threat at Europe's door again in the future. Since its genetics was formed for this purpose, it has always the ability to create a plan against any threat from Russian side.

NATO's military organization, dispatch and administration bases, and its doctrine are all about this. You cannot include China in this coverage. It can be ideologically, but tactically and strategically not possible.

NATO had one goal prevent soviet hemogeny over Europe .after the soviets collapsed an agreement was signed between the new russian federation and nato, NATO wouldnt expand to previous warsaw pact partcipants or to be more specific, where its close to russia. 2 years later this treaty was broken with the joining of poland then the countries joining were just illogical to have in NATO with montenegro? If your geography will upset russia then youre officially a country tgat might join NATO.

Seeing this ukraine situation take over all of what i think is that this is their right to precent ukraine from joining NATO at any cost when diplomacy didnt work the force arms will. From my understanding NATO is the aggressor not the opposite

The F-16s coming are F-16 Block 52?
The 192nd Squadron "Tiger" (192. Filo "Kaplan") has F-16C/D Block 50+ fighter jets.

Turkiye experienced the direct threat of Russian invasion during the Stalin era and is the direct and 'only' reason for its participation in NATO. Likewise, the indirect reason for Greece's entry into NATO is Russian expansionism.

It was the common threat perception that brought Turkey and Greece together in the late 40s, and 1950s. Few people here may know, but until the these years, the relations between Turkiye and Greece were mostly excellent and friendly. Then, like the Cyprus problem and the military coups, a very problematic conditions emerged between the two countries and both countries came to the brink of war at least twice. The current level of the Turkish-Greek tension, on which people from other countries have expressed their opinions, is actually at a normal level for us, compared to some periods in the past...

Turkish and Greek fighter pilots, especially some squadrons, are probably some of the best dog-fighters in the world. Have you ever thought why? In the 90's for example, the Islands Sea was like a fairground of fighter jets, it had a sortie density that could not be found in any other inland sea of the world. The pilot training culture of the two countries has a very special place. Because both sides derive their strength from a tough competitive environment.

Yeah, remember you had the USSR and Bulgaria at your borders and we had Albania,Yugoslavia and Bulgaria. You also had the entire Black Sea controlled by the USSR,Bulgaria and Romania. The only non-communist country in the Black Sea was Turkey. And even if the USSR didn't attack us,the other communist countries had sizeable armies, even though they were not united at the time. Albanians had abandoned the Soviets and then went with the Chinese and then left the Chinese as well. The Yugoslavs were kind of trying to balance between West and East and the Romanians didn't like the Soviets much after the Soviet invasion of Hungary. But still....

We even had some dogfight incidents during the war in Cyprus, but like you said, during the '90s there were a lot of dogfights in the Aegean. Mirage F1s and F-16s and Mirage 2000s and Phantoms and I don't know you if guys still had any F-5s or other jet fighters in the '90s. Most of the 2000s were full of dogfights as well.

Such an agreement was never signed, it was only said, and Russia invaded Ukraine in 2013, this changes dramatically any agreement. Russia cannot do whatever it wants.

Ukraine can and should join NATO, Russia's actions are a reason for it to do so.

russia invaded to prevent ukraine from joining after a new west loyal goverment was installed after the coloured revloution, you have to understand that this is an outright violation to russias national security and they would whatever it takes to prevent NATO from building military bases and nuclear launch sites in ukraine

Installed? Lol, this was bound to be, the president before that and his government stole tens of billions of dollars to his own pocket and ran away to Russia when people revolted as they found out about the corruption.

This is not a violation of Russia's security, this is the right of Ukraine to exist as something other than a Russian puppet.

Looks like the Turkish F-16s won't be going to Tiger Meet 2022 after all.

I'll google translate the article:

Withdrawal of the invitation of the 192nd Squadron of the Turkish Air Force to participate in the upcoming international exercise NATO Tiger Meet 2022, seems to be one (the minor) of the Greek reactions to the crescendo of yesterday's violations, violations and overflights of Turkish fighters.

Recall that the Turkish challenges started early yesterday, April 27, when an F-16 pair flew over Arki at 10:18 at 27,000 feet, at 10:21 at 26,000 feet and at 10:28 at 22,000 feet. This was followed by a corresponding overflight at Lipsi at 10:19 at 27,000 feet, at 10:22 and 10:24 at 26,000 feet and at 10:26 at 21,000 feet.

The Agathonisi was next at 10:29 at 25,000 feet, Samos at 10:33 at 25,000 feet, Fourni at 10:37 at 26,000 feet and Oinousses at 10:43 at 28,000 feet.

Later, another pair of TIK F-16s flew at 12:13 over Farmakonisi, at 12:15 over Lipsi, at 12:17 over Fourni and at 12:24 over Oinousses at 26,000.

In all cases, on a regular basis, the Turkish fighter jets were identified and intercepted by respective Greeks in accordance with international rules.

The continuing violations of Greek airspace and the overflights of Turkish aircraft over Greek islands in the Aegean, provoked the reaction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with a strong step towards the Turkish ambassador in Athens.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Themistoklis Demiris, stressed to the Turkish Ambassador that "these actions are a violation of Greek sovereignty, constitute an unacceptable challenge and are contrary to fundamental principles of international law", while emphasizing that "these actions are "They endanger international air traffic, completely contradict the principle of good neighborly relations between the two countries and undermine efforts to consolidate a climate of trust."

The Turkish provocation, however, then peaked when, about 40 minutes after the Greek step, Ankara proceeded with new overflights.

At 17:17, a pair of Turkish F-16s flew over Lipsi at 27,000 feet, and at 17:18 over Arki at 14,000 feet.

According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a quarter of a pair of Turkish F-16s flew at 19:37 over the island of Ro, at 25,000 feet, at 19:38 over Megisti, at 25,000 feet and at 19:40 again over Ro , at 24,000 feet.

The same pair flew at 19:58 over Kalolimnos and Imia, at 20:05 again over Kalolimnos, at 20:08 over Lipsi and at 20:09 over Arkios.

The violations and overflights continued at 20:18 over Agathonisi, at 20:19 over Arkios and at 20:20 over Lipsi, at 20,000 and 24,000 feet respectively.

The same pair at 20:27 flew over Telendos, at 20:28 over Kalymnos and at 20:29 over Imia at 23,000 feet, at 20:37 over Symi, at 20:39 over Rhodes at 28,000 feet.

A fifth formation of two F-16s flew at 20:52 over Samos, at 20:57 over Leros, at 20:59 over Kos, at 21:00 over Strongyli, at 21:01 over from Nisyros, at 21:04 over Halki, while the same pair of Turkish fighters continued their overflights, flying at 21:07 over Prasonisi, at 21:14 and at 21:15 over Karpathos at 25,000 feet.

All of these Turkish fighters were identified and intercepted by Greek F-16s and Mirage 2000. In total, at least 40 overflights and more than 100 violations took place during the day.

Regarding the NATO exercise Tiger Meet 2022, which is scheduled to start on May 9 in Araxos, among the guests from the 335th "Tiger" Squadron to participate was the 192 Filo of the Turkish Air Force, which would bring three planes. This invitation seems to have been withdrawn.
