What's new

Turkish EW and Radar center, Aselsan REHIS MicroWave Production institute

A new REHIS (Radars and Electronic WArfare/Intelligence Systems) building under contruction not a days. With new REHIS building, Many times larger than the existing REHIS building (which was still a decent size), with a more advanced technological base, many times more square footage, clearn rooms, labs and ability to accomodate more scientists and engineers. At least on par with Thales' assembly building in the Netherlands. After it's complete, Aselsan will become one of the top 3 radar and microwave-instrument producers of all Europe.

-Aselsan will invest about 204 million $ for new REHIS
-Radar&Electronic warfare technologies Design/Manufacturing facilities, New Radar/system assembly areas, Microwave amplifiers Moduls Design/Manufacturing, Special Computation Labs, Accurate Mechanical Manufacturing facilities...etc
-400 Engineers

Aselsan has enormous experiences about EW systems. Tens of new ELINT/SIGINT systems have been developed for various missions until now. Some of them have electronic attack capabilities engaging the targets with a range from 150/200km...

but Most important specification of those systems are that Noone knows nothing about them excluding Aselsan/Turkish Army Officials...

Those are only known moveable/fixed systems developed by Aselsan until now.

-Milkar-3A Tactical V/UHF EDT/ESM
-Milkar-3A Electronical detection systems EKT/ECM
-Milked-3T2 Communication DF Transportable
-Milked-3T Direction Finder- DF system
-Milkar-4 Mobile HF communication EDT/EKT
-Milkar-4S Communication jammint system
-Milked-3A2 Communcation DF-Watch system
-Milkar-5A4 RF Active attack/Jamming system
-Milkar-5T3 Jamming system
-DIFINT-3A Communication DF and watch system
-MILKAR-2U which is based on C-160 Transall
-HF DF(Milked-4A) development program agreement has been signed with Aselsan-SSM worth 21.250 million $ in 2005. Deliveries started in 2010...
-VHF/UHF Attack system development project has been signed between Aselsan-SSM in 2009. Design phase is being carried out now a days.

That's the Electronic Attack capable EW system battery design of Aselsan.

That's the current Electronic Attack system Aselsan is manufacturing for only Turkish Army...

According to reports, This sytem uses so special and secret methods to deactive/strike the electronic systems/radars with a range from more than 100km (S&H Magazine).

Likely possible that electronics were jammed. BTW turkish SAT Teams landet on Kardak which was protectet by Greek Frigates and showed the turkish Flag !

REHIS TO BE FUNCTIONAL BY 14 MARCH 2014
DEFENCE MINISTER INSPECTS REHIS

ASELSAN General Manager Cengiz Ergeneman briefed Defence Minister İsmet Yılmaz about the Gölbaşı facility where Long Range Air Defence Radars will be manufactured. Ergeneman underlined that the facility will be completed by March 2014. Turkish Armed Forces Foundation acting General manager Fikri Gönültaş, President of ASELSAN Board of Members Necmettin Baykul, ASELSAN Board of Member Hasan Canpolat and Deputy undersecretary of Undersecretariat of Defence Industries Dr. Faruk Özlü attended to the visit. ASELSAN’s investments on Gölbaşı facilities is approximately $ 200 million and when completed radar manufacturing facilities will be gathered in here. ASELSAN will mainly produce Long Range Air Defence Radar but also all radar, jammer, microwave modules, and design, produce and give logistic support for other electronic warfare tools for Turkish Armed Forces.

ASELSAN RADAR ELECTRONIC WAR INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS, GOLBASI CAMPUS

Aselsan REHIS, a campus situated in GölbaÅı-Ankara, is composed of diverse buildings, such as, offices, procurement facilities and a social center. The buildings are designed to respond to multiple technical and engineering requirements. Architectural elements of campus design are put forward through a matrix system. Basically, diverse buildings are connected with each other through an arcade and an allé. This 18.65 m height-arcade helps in the development of relationship with Konya road in terms of scale. Structural, façade and landscape elements, which interrelate in a design totality, are part of this matrix system. Structural elements are steel arcade, steel V shaped structures and steel canopy. Façade elements are horizontal sun shades and silicone façade system. Landscape elements are deciduous soft materials and concrete hard materials. Procurement buildings have steel structures. Office buildings are reinforced concrete; however, steel structures are used to carry their main circulation corridors. These corridors, which are part of buildings in two levels, are carried through steel V shaped structures. The V shaped structures are carried by a steel arcade system. Steel arcade structures that hold on to building faces or exist as independent elements continue in a linear path of 585 meters. They help in the development of a common architectural language between buildings. Arcade elements that hold on to building faces function as sun shading structures as they are vertical in direction. They are given dimension by investigating sunshade projections in six different timeframes. Independent elements continue at the outside pedestrian road. Additional buildings are planned to be constructed in this area. The road, which is defined by steel arcade, is covered by a steel canopy structure as well. All the buildings are white in color. Steel V shaped elements and steel canopy are orange in color. The campus intervenes to the ecological surrounding in a minimum level. Façade decisions of every building are developed concerning campus landscape.

Once finished, There will be more than 1000 people working in REHIS.
