As said im not familiar with it, there must be some kind of regulation i have no clue but remember there is ways a way to go around any mechanism, Germany also isnt spared from corruption and mismanagement sometimes like BER airport or Stuttgart 21 for exsample.

Edit: so i did a quick google search, there seems to be the Grand National Assembly planning and budget comission which is supervising state spendings among others.

corruption and mismangement exist everywhere even in the cleanest countries on earth as Switzerland and Singapore.the point is to have a mechanism to uncover mistakes, mismanagement and corruption, not letting the government nor a man smashing the country against a wall.

Yeah...I'm not fan of direct taxes too, specially in Turkey which people will simply don't pay it hoping "Aff gelir" during election time.

Personally one problem I see with Turkey's people : they spend more than they can affroid.
I live in France, and after 11pm generally people sleep (except of course nightclub) but in Turkey...just last night at Ankara I see 3 restaurant in the same road....and all of them was full.
Another example...Iphone 8 which is much more expensive in Turkey than France, yet in Turkey more 10 millions people have by this phone. I cannot believe that 10 millions people in Turkey can buy this phone without being in debt. People like to show off in Turkey.

Anyways Turkey is lucky that this crise come during summer while the europeen Turk are still there to spend money and exchange their euro with Turkish lira. My uncle form Germany spend 50 000 euro to buy a house in Turkey (he is really not lucky, he buy it one month ago while today he should have been able to buy it for 30 000 euro).
If this criss come during the spring the fall would been much worst I think.
