Vestel will create a joint-venture with a local Saudi company and produce 46 Karayel UAVs over the next 5 years for the Saudi forces.

KSA will receive a great drone. Karayel was actually developed for Turkish Armed Forces that is similar to TB2 in terms of drone class but later, Bayraktar TB2 became favorite drone of army. KSA crowned Vestel institute by receiving licence rights of Karayel to produce them in Saudi Arabia.

Great achievement. This is a chance for vestel to prove themselves and hopefully the tsk could buy some product later

Actually the deal is not new, and even a license built Karayel was shot down by the houthis last year... I agree that it is a great chance for the Vestel to shine too, but after all, SA is trying to dig our grave in the M.East with the UAE donkeys...

I agree with your assessment but we should be a bit like russia, sell arms with one hand and back stab with the other

Great! Turkey and Saudi Arabia should work together against the common enemy.

I thought Turks didn't like Saudis and vice versa??

Money talks bs walks typa situation??
:D

Business will be Business if the Turks and Saudis hated each other they would have cut all trade and diplomatic relations.

Money talks but for vestel is now a golden chance to prove that they can make drones maybe even give Bayraktar a run for their money.

Competition is good between military products the only problem is politics.

Turkish drones have proven their worth during recent engagements in Lybia and Syria. Specially in Syria. Operating under well defended airspace carying out surgical strikes on regular military targets both mobile and fixed.
We should also co-develope a UCAC and tactics with Turkey and gain from their experience.

Turkish UAVs are just like any other flying UAV, they aren't any more sophisticated against air defence systems. The reason Turkish UAVs did so well is because of the introduction of Electronic Warfare systems such as Koral which suppressed radar systems Syrians were using, find their locations and drop ordnance on their heads.

Turkey definitely would not be sharing such systems with any country.

When Air version of KORAL is developed, Turkish interests will reach further.

Bayraktar TB-2 and ANKA-S UCAVs have limited strike capabilities with only 8km MAM-L laser guided smart Bomb

but AKINCI UCAV will be another level to hit even Syrian S300 Air Defense System without any EW System support

No source or anything?

This news is not making sense for me. Why would Saudis go for an unproven UAV which is not even being used by it's own military while they have all the money the set-up JVs with their favourite Western Companies.

Why Turkish government would give export lisence to Vestel inorder to set-up a shop in a country which attacks Yemen. For several times Turkish government critisized Saudis for their actions in Yemen.
