Turkish defense industry producers sign contracts with foreign firms

Turkish firms participated Monday in an international defense industry fair in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and signed contracts with foreign companies.

The Ninth IDEX International Defense Exhibition and Conference is being held in Abu Dhabi on Feb. 22-26.

Turkey's Roketsan signed a $90 million rocket launcher system manufacturing deal with UAE company, Al Jaber.

Turkey's National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul also participated in the signature ceremony.

Part of the rocket launcher system will be produced in Turkey, and part of it will be manufactured in the UAE, where the system will also be integrated and assembled.

Roketsan executives said their company would also sign an agreement with Burkan firm in the first half of 2009 to jointly manufacture rockets.

Turkey's Yonca-Onuk partnership signed a deal worth $127.77 million with the Critical National Infrastructure Authority to sell 34 rapid intervention boats.

Brothers, It is the first time, Roketsan has introduced UMTAS long range anti-tank missiles on pod in IDEX 2009... If we go to a cooperation project for T-129 Atak helikopter, I sure Pakistan will produce not only T-129 Atak but also UMTAS and Cirit missiles in Pakistan institues... Acording to Roketsan authorities and S&H (Defence & Aerospace) magazine, Umtas is capable to penetrate about 1000mm reactive armours with its tandem warhead...

The above Pictures are really Kool, Especially that of T-129 and Long range Anti Tank Missile. I hope T-129 will be comparable to Apache or even better than Apache, Pakistan Army Needs Helicopters for Anti-terrorism Operations and I think T-129 will be a Good Option for PA.

Pakistan Must Co-operate with Turkey in defence Projects because Turkey has showed Lot of Progress in Defence sector. I hope the Brotherly Relations among two countries will be strengthened even more in the coming future.

Only Problem Pakistan Faces nowadays is Economy and as soon as Pakistan will get Money, Pakistan will Buy the Latest Technology from Turkey.

Brother, Turkish economy also faces many difficulties now a days so, Long range air defence missile system tender has been carried over to a different date but I hope Both countries are able to stand current finansial difficulties and Both brother countries will keep going to develop future technologies togetherness to not haul down any enemies' flags...


About T-129, It is a multi-purpose Light weight helicopter. If A country needs a high manoeuvrability, mobility helo to use anti-terror operations, reconnaissance-surveillance missions, It is certain that T-129 or similar class helicopters will be best options for costumers. Turkey is also assess the neccessity of conditions like same menthality and Authorities have choosed to develop a light weight-high mobility helicopter based on A-129 main body.

Turkey have also great experiences against anti-terror operations like Pakistan since 1990's, so Authorities warned that We should not use same class helicopter with Italians, Russians....etc. because Turkish South-East geoghraphy has really bad conditions which has many hilly-rock mountains, great canyons. Those conditions give the terrorists better protection and hidding areas against Helicopters so Turkish helicopters should provide more power options than anothers Which are currently in use at some countries, to dive-climb in a short time to fire the targets without any casuality... so Turkey has selected the most powerfull engine for a light weight helicopter...

and It is certain that T-129 will provide really excellent electronical specifications as well as Apaches including MMW radars, fully digital cackpit, the best electro-optic sensors, EW systems, Navigation electronics... but Apache is an heavy armed anti-Tank helicopter. It was designed for frontage wars as a tank killer so it is normal that While AH-64 is capabled to carry 16 anti-Tank missiles, T-129 or same class helos will carry 12 of them but If the superiority criterias are mobility-manouvrability for us, Light-Weight Attack helos are much more capable than Apache-Hovac.. to perform reconnaissance-surveillance, anti-terror operations....

Thanks for more details about T-129 Helicopter and I think it is Specifically Designed to Counter terrorists who use Terrain very effectively to get cover and Pakistan is also fighting a similar War in a Similar terrain so T-129 will prove to be a Best option for Pakistan than Apache or any other heli.

Main Problem is still the Economic Slowdown, as soon as it gets over Pakistan will for sure make an Effort to strengthen Pakistan's relation with Turkey.

T-129 and Turkish made Long range Anti Tank Missile will be an option for Pakistan Army to have Look at. Many Turkish Products are already Under Evaluation by Pakistan Army.
