Delivery of KAMOV KA-32 is a good beginning . We lack heavy airlift capacity. Greeks has 3 times more Chinooks than we. CH-53 are too expensive. So why not ? But I would compare them with CH-53 s.Could be a new beginning. Modernization of MI-7 s of Gendarmerie, KA-32s and 4 of this giants could be perfect diversifaction, if Russians build up maintenance and logistic structure in Turkey.

Contract for “Procurement of Contracting Services within the scope of Construction Agreement for Infrastructure and Facilities at 7th Main Jet Base Command for Site Activation of JSF Combat Aircraft” was signed on 14 August 2017 in Ankara by Nurol Construction for a total Lump Sum amount of 429.500.000 TL (Around 123.000.000 usd)

If 111 and 112/ together with 171 and 172 flotillas will get F-35s,
Nurol or an other other company has to modify infrastucture in Eskisehir too.

Here an interesting article about complete different needs of F-35 on the ground.

Quote :.................Full production of the aircraft is not expected until 2019, but hangars have been in the works for more than four years. The new hangars that support this fantastic aircraft can’t be just ordinary hangars. They need to have the latest in technology and safety built into them. What used to work for hangar design doesn’t necessarily apply anymore.
With a handful of these hangars 100 percent up and running and many more being built both in the United States and in some NATO countries, how is the learning curve going?......................
