What's new

Turkish army’s drill on Iraqi border [PHOTO]

1-) Let's not forget that PKK operated (still operating) in the KRG area. Peshmergas did nothing to stop them. They even allow PKK bases in their areas.
2-) Our relationship with Iraqi government start to fall apart after our oil deal will KRG, which enabled KRG to undermine central governments authority.

1.) Barzani handed over several PKK terrorists to Turkey in the past. He blocked the pan-Kurdish parliament. Barzani criticized again and again PKK which is still very anti-KDP. For instance, Puk is working with the Iraqi government but still they are more hateful towards Turkey than Barzani's KDP. In Suleymaniye PKK is maintaining a base. The city is under the control of PUK. The citizens of Suleymaniye are generally known for their sympathies to PKK whereas the population of Erbil is more critical to PKK. All in all, Peshmergas were to weak to stop the PKK from using Northern Iraq as a base. Btw, we have two Peshmerga units. One is loyal to KDP and the other one is serving PUK.

I beg to differ. Trusting the central government would be as wrong as cooperating with Barzani from this point of time onwards.

2.) No. Maliki was simply a moron. No one trusted him. The government under Maliki was simply anti Turkish because at that time Iran was in opposition to Turkey at all fronts.

This is why I'm warning our Turkish community. As long as the Iraqi Shia-led government hasn't proved its independence from Iran, we must maintain healthy relations with everyone in Iraq, even Barzani. Thé moment the Turkopersian relationship is going down, you will hear much more critical tones coming from Bağdat regarding Turkey.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

We shouldn't make the same mistakes over and over again. Being pro Bağdat doesn't mean we have to cut our working ties with Northern Iraq. Please be more rational. At this time, we need a very balanced and very intelligent Iraq policy. We could win big if we proceed wisely.

Iran and Turkish relations are at an all time high,in the past it was due to syria but now Iran and Turkey agreed and are working together on de-escalation zones in Syria. Erdogan recently visited Iran and vice versa, the same went with military chiefs and economic trade is expected to double. Times are changing.
It also wasnt just Turkey who worked with Birzani, Iran also worked with Birzani extensively

A hint for Turkish REAL prosecutors,

Atlas Jet - Royal Max Hotels - Zagros Airlines

Barzani's smuggling money laundering via Israel .

Now astonished ? That's the peak of the iceberg .

It seems we will be called dogs of Iran unless we go to war with Iran, might as well admit we are Iranians
As far as i see, Iraqis are pursuing their own interests. Don't mind the name callings please.

I don't mind much.

I agree with some other users though, they should go for Arbil as well to take out the Barzani clan, if not they will just wait for another opportunity in the future. Except Kurds would flee to Turkey which you don't want either.

Buddy, they want it, the refugees already have more rights in Turkey than locals and a are huge vote potential for the AKParti.
But they will pay for it . Send them asap to us 1 Million from and Idlip and at least 1 Million from Erbil.
3-4 Million voters more total for AKParti for sure, with the others who settled down the last years.

That's a good solution to build an Islamic state, with MUFTI marriage and Kadi justice what is coming soon.

How is Turkey going to stop flights from Northern Iraq to Israel when even the Baghdad gov is unable to do so? There's no legal basis to that. Turkey just closed its airspace to KRG as part of the response to the illegal referendum. That's about the extent of it.

"Buyuk Oyun" is about to start on TVNET in about 10 minutes. Watch it live here:

http://www.tvnet.com.tr/canli-yayin

"Karsi Karsiya" will follow right after that at 23:00. Both programs are excellent and interesting to watch regarding the geopolitical developments around Turkey. You can listen to real experts like Mete Yarar and Kemal Öztürk.
