The southeastern Turkish town located on the Turkish-Syrian border, Suruç experienced high-level of military activity throughout Saturday. While number of military helicopters had landed at the military compound at the Şanlıurfa town of Suruç, local sources reported that a great number of troops had been piled at the compound near the Mürşitpınar border.

As the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) continues to threaten the tomb of Suleyman Shah in Syria's Aleppo, the only Turkish exclave, Turkish armed forces had reportedly advanced its security measures along the border road between Mürşitpınar and Suruç. In addition, the authorities have done identification control on those who are travelling to and from the border at the southeastern town. Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the tomb of Süleyman Shah in which is a mere 30 kilometers from the Turkish border is under the protection of Turkish soldiers.
