It is standardized. Both helmets are the same, we just need camo sheath on them. They are said to be designed in accordance to the typical head structure of average Turkish men.

In regards to camouflage, the currently used one (since 2008-2009) also has winter jackets but the older one's jackets (a Turkish pattern for the BDU, basically incorporating more brown colors) are goretex. Therefore they are far better in harsh winter conditions. Thats why they prefer it. In fact you only see them in winter.
