I recently watched a documentary on Gallipoli war fought during WW1. I am wondering weapon wise, were Turkey (Ottoman Empire) on par with or behind British Empire at that time? Thanks.

unfortunatly weapon wise we were far behind British Empire and France

The 100-year history of the Turkish Air Force features 6,426 airplanes of 207 different types. After decades of flying propeller aircraft, the Turkish Air Force marked a turning point on December 17, 1951 when its first jets – two T-33s with serial numbers 51-4058 and 51-4059 – became operational. In the six decades since then, the Turkish Air Force has operated a total of 2,809 jets of 37 different types.
