Turkey's War on Terror and the Negotiations

I'm wondering what Turkish members here think about all these recent developments. Mind you, i'm interested in emotion-free, logical analysis.

I personally think that it is a win-win situation for Turkey in every possible scenerio. I will elaborate as/if the discussion matures.

If you are familiar enough with the subject, foreign members are also welcome to express their opinions.

I don't like the idea of negotiation with a terror organization. I'm thinking we should destroy PKK camps in Iraq and Iran whatever the cost maybe.

On the other hand, if these negotions will be succesfull, a peacefull end to Turkey's terror problem will be great.
But on what cost ?

That's the most critical question that we are yet to know. I believe, it is the prime reason of the opposition and rightly so.

I can't help myself but raise my hopes though. The idea of we are finally going to get rid of this parasite is so tempting.

My opinion is clear, war on terror and minority issues are two seperate diseases and they need two different medicine. Bombs for PKK, reforms for the minorities. Negotiating with terrorists accomplish nothing.

If we could win the hearts of the minorities it could put a stop to PKK's recruitment on it's own. Negotiating with terrorists is just low.

None of those were as harmful as PKK has been in 30 years. If it can be stopped, education, prosperity, democracy and economy will rapidly increase particularly in eastern areas, as a result Turkey will be much stronger than even it is today.

I still stand behind my choise, We should continue for peace. One must ask themself, What are our soldiers fighting for? For peace!

Main issue; should we release apo for peace or not. Things will eventually come to this, i just know. I am strongly against this.

They want land, are you going to give them land?

Really there is nothing to negotiate, they have all these demands because they have thousands of armed guerillas behind them, eliminate this threat and they will stop demands.

And negotiating with them is biggest mistake,it will only make them get stronger as a result they will ask for more.

Releasing Apo, giving autonomy or land; these are out of the question and both sides know it very well. Besides Apo himself said that they wish for unitary and democratic Turkish Republic. So no, they don't want land, as a matter of fact i doubt if they know what they are fighting for.

"Freedom to öcalan,statute to kurd" this is BDP's decleration for incoming nevruz celebrations. Their supporters will expect apo's release. And releasing apo is out fo question for us. So how the negotiations will continue.
