Finally Admiral Murat Bilgel told about the 5, 10 and 20 year plans of the Turkish navy and the need for a mini aircraft carrier (LHD) and the idea to use STOVL aircraft (F35-C)

Seeing as the TN is going to operate the new LHD as a 'mini AC' i'm guessing a TF-2000/ TF-100 (SM-2 Capable?) along with the 214TN AIP subs will be used in an escort role?

Turkey should get an Aircraft carrier not just an LHD. Even thailand have AC so why can't a resurgent turkey.

LHD is also a type of Aircraft carrier but just called LHD. Modified version can carry 4 F-35B and more in down decks to be used when It is needed...

Take a look RMK Marine's domestic LHD design.

It is waste of time and resources to operate/protect a swiming island (300-350m AC) in a narrow water like Aegean and a fully closed sea like Blacksea...

gulf. A single fleet can flatten tel Aviv in an event of war and with decreasing British & french power turkey will become the
sole regional power in Europe and the ME. I believe a rising power like turkey deserves an AC.

Ordering a big AC in order to showing off Turkish flag in Mediterranean is not a good idea for a country Which is investing great money on development of conventional weapon/missile technologies in those days. Some Sources say that Developing a LHD will cost approx. 1-1,5 billion TL/$ (?) for Turkish industry. Can you imagine more bigger and capable one which will be powered with foreign nuclear propulsion system ? Nuclear Fuel requirement of Navy ? What about the costs of aircrafts you will station on them ? What about the new fleet to be prepared to protect AC?

With all those money, Turkey can create magic on other arm sectors, especially Missiles and TF-X Aircraft developments so No need it...

My Friend, Never get me wrong. I have deep respect to your point and wishes about Turkey but Turkey isn't a Thailand. I mean Thailand don't have an ambitious target to develop great majority of arm technologies in home but arming unconsiously with foreign toys against enemies to make an appearance against so paying for a foreign tank or an AC or anything else will not make any differences from Thaliand's prospect. Turkey is a different story... We are going to be strong with domestic toy's efficiency in field/international politics in different geographies... When It is needed, Turkey is going to sell very critical and advanced weapon system to a country to change the stability of regions in favour of Turkey's requrements. Even Possibility of That will create aversiveness enough to spread fear over enemies in World...

i have read much about the LHD, but what i want to know is if it going to be driven by nuclear reactor.

isn't it better with a nuclear reactor to drive ships like this, the US carriers can go for 20 years without refuel i have heard.

Such a wast of money. Turkey needs to priortet TF-X

Swedes manadged to develop Gripen for almost that money.

Turkey don't need AC but it definitely needs to invest in space and airborne tech
And in many many many more fields.

acquiring AC will send negative signals to world powers which turkey cant afford to.....
