Two Turkish Airlines' old B737 type airliners could be converted aswell... why waste such a sophisticated cargo plane for tanker missions?

We already have an ongoing tender for new generation air refueling aircraft. The competitors are the Airbus A330 MRTT and Boeing KC767.
