Turkeys Aselsan gets $167.4 mln deal from govt agency

ANKARA (Turkey), December 23 (SeeNews) Turkish defence company Aselsan [BIST:ASELS] has signed a $167.4 million (122.3 million euro) contract with the country's Undersecretariat for Defense Industries concerning the agencys X-band satellite communications system project, Aselsan said on Monday.

Deliveries under the agreement will be made by the end of 2019, Aselsan said in a bourse filing.

No doubt TF-2000 frigates will have Aselsan X band communication systems on board but What makes TF-2000 special, will be Aselsan developed 360 degree non-rotating Illumination/Search radar called CAFRAD + Havelsan Genesis AdVent CMS + Roketsan Atmaca SSM + Roketsan AKYA Torpedoes + Surface to Air Naval missiles to be selected.
