Turkey's Erdogan urges caution over blaming Iran for Saudi attack: Fox News

STANBUL (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan urged caution over blaming Iran for a Sept. 14 attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities, adding that it would not be right to place the entire burden on the Islamic Republic.

The United States, European powers and Saudi Arabia have blamed the attack on Iran, instead of the Yemeni Iran-aligned Houthi group that claimed responsibility. Iran distanced itself from the attacks, but said it was ready for “full-fledged” war.


“I don’t think it would be the right thing to blame Iran,” Erdogan said in an interview with Fox News broadcast on Wednesday, adding that the attacks came from several parts of Yemen.

“If we just place the entire burden on Iran, it won’t be the right way to go. Because the evidence available does not necessarily point to that fact,” Erdogan said, according to a translation of his comments broadcast by Fox.


Saudi Arabia is in consultation “with friends and allies about the next steps to take,” its Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir told reporters on Wednesday.

The attack on the heartland of Saudi Arabia’s oil industry damaged the world’s biggest petroleum-processing facility and knocked out more than 5% of global oil supply.

There is no friend or foe in jeopolitics. Iran and Turkey are regional competitors but at the current situation if one of them splits into pieces that power vacuum is going to be replaces by western puppets in various forms. Look at Syria and multiply it with 10. If one of these countries fall the other will follow in a few weeks.

We all saw what they did in syria and iraq we can’t let them do the same in iran that’s way iran is still standing tall against sanctions if you look the geography then you can make logical conclusion that Turkey is helping Iran to counter economic sanctions of course this is not made because we are in love with Iran it’s pure interest nothing more and if there’s conflict in Iran do you know how much refugees would come to Turkey(eventually they would continue in Europe but until that happens there will be short term political chaos in Turkey) also 40% of Iran are Turks we certainly won’t go against own kind we all know what demoncratic west does once they occupy country(Iraq afganistan etc)

Actually i am in favour of liberating south azerbaijan(i am strong nationalist) yet i look things in terms of current realities since we are going to lanuch the operation in NE Syria and send hevals to the Moon it wouldn’t be in our interest right now a conflict in Iran of course after that different situation and different plans
They not only support hevals but also control them since there’s temporary alliance between Iran and Turkey iran front is frozen while we destroy them in iraq syria and the southeast after control is established in the mentioned areas we will attack them in Iran don’t worry
