Due to its fast growth, Turkey will soon join the BRIC countries – Brazil, Russia, India and China – as an emerging power of the global economy, Gordon Brown, the former British prime minister, said in his book “Beyond the Crash,” published last week.

The gratitude and growth of Indonesia, Korea, Mexico and Turkey will bring these countries to the same level as the BRIC countries, Brown said in his biographical work.

Brown said the growth in Asian economies, including South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore, would contribute much to the global recovery after the financial recession.

The 315-page book includes Brown’s views on various domestic and global economic issues

But don't take Gordon Browns word!!
He is no expert nor a renowned economist.

Not sure if Turkey's interest coincide with BRIC countries. Turkey I think is considered as developed country whereas BRIC who are all developing.

Turkey's population is too small. In the long term I can't see Turkey's economy at the same level as Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, India and China.

And countries like South Korea are even smaller than Turkey, how can they be compared with the above nations?

Not sure if Turkey's interest coincide with BRIC countries. Turkey I think is considered as developed country whereas BRIC who are all developing.

Turkey is definitely not a developed country yet, there are huge regional differences. Even Mexico is probably more developed than Turkey (but not that much).

I am not sure but i think Turkey is more ahead then India and China economically and is taken as well developed nation.

Turkey is highly developed comparing to any non-westerner nation. She can be compared with some of the European countries... better than Belgium, Ireland... weaker than UK, France, Germany

Yes thats what i thought that apart from military Turkey is far far ahead then us in terms of economy and per capita. The figures may be high for us but the quality of life is much better for Turkey.

So what will this bring in store for Turkey?
