Turkey stays away from China’s Belt and Road summit citing debt-trap diplomacy and Uighur concerns

.
You don't need to reply if you only want to troll! Are Turkey not a lapdog of Imperialists? And sometimes gone wild?

I will reply to those who talk bullsh!t and bad about my country.

Read your comment again and tell me who is trolling here... but yeah keep playing the victim card.

Turks sold their passports for 50 thousand USD a piece to Uyghurs that escaped from China through Vietnam/Tailand to join the ISIS. Maybe Turks should print a lot more of those fake Turkish products and it could add to your GDP growth.

It's best that you ask Armanians or Kurds what Turks are all about!

Do stay away from China!

BRI, is anything but Marshall Plan I guess. The difference, almost all of the countries part of the BRI initiative had suppressed or censored the details of Aid/Loan from their own public as part of this program from China. Pakistan is just one classic example. And some loans are even disbursed at higher Interest rates than International practices.

Chinese project loans at high interest rates - Sri-Lanka

$1bn China Exim Bank loan conditions too stringent - Zimbabwe

Dr Mahathir tells the Philippines: ‘Be very careful’ with China

FYI, all the above are international news sources from the respective countries. So, it's just not us. :-)
Western propaganda, we just cancelled 12 billion interest on loans to Ethiopian, as for the Pakistan loan, there is a detailed report on them by the Chinese government, google and find it out.

Well, everything is Western Propaganda, including a head of state huh ??? :o:

Regarding China's Cancelling of Interest on Interest-Free loan, it's too early to comment, since the Ethiopian P.M and their government has not disclosed the entire details yet to their public. Let some water flow under the bridge first then we can discuss this in future. I bet it will be another hot topic of discussion here like Hambantota port down the road.

There is a very strong reason why Malaysia under Dr. Mahathir cancelled several projects under Chinese debt and that's not just western propaganda.

Malaysia Finally Scraps $3 Billion China-Backed Pipeline Plans

Malaysia's Mahathir cancels China-backed rail, pipeline projects

You better update your information, Mahathir is in Beijing now, and those projects are restarted along with new ones.

Well did you even read the same article?? :-)

Seems like this man is a good negotiator. I still stick to my point. There was a strong reason why Malaysia choose to cancel those deals few months back. And it is clearly evident from the article you have provided. Read the except below;

He put several projects on hold as soon as he come back to power last May, but recently revived the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) after a renegotiation between Beijing and Putrajaya brought down the price tag by a third.

Individual projects can be negotiated, if they want to reduce the cost and make them less fancy, we can deliver accordingly, but the general concensus over BIR is clearly stated by him and his government.

Well its too early to comment on Malaysia's position on BRI yet. Do you expect a delegation/guests of any forum to critize or even express their reservations publically. Never.

Let them get back home and then we can discuss about this after few weeks or months I guess. :-)

They can choose not to come, like India and Turkey.

They won't given their close proximity to China geographically and due to political reasons. That said everyone including Malaysia in ASEAN have reservation on China's position and unilateral approach on SCS, did that stop all of them including Japan to stop diplomatic relation with China?? No, my friend diplomacy is not a zero sum game, and that doesn't mean everyone attending a forum or conference completely approve on the whole agenda. :nono:

I never said the participants fully agree on everything, it's just a general attitude. India and Turkey refused to come, but that also doesn't mean we disagree on everything, it's just a general attitude.
