Turkey Setting Sails on Big Naval Ambitions

I'm certain he works in tourism. His posts reveal this. He mentioned several times he had relationships with foreign girls, and they went on cruisers together etc. He frequently posts threads on the "booming" industry of Italy's tourism, comparing it with Turkey's diminishing tourism due to terrorism etc etc

Having relationships with foreign girls is strange for you? Here ist normal. Going on a cruise is nothing special when you have a certain income.

And that i post about our booming tourism compared to your collapsing tourism is plain and simple because i love that my country is sucessful :)

And this is where you lose a argument once again, whats worse is you loose it against a oriental brain, what a shame. :cray:

He thinks its so special while i only need 1 week salary to book a cruise across mediterranian, wait till he shows his 600$ (or was it 300? I dont remember) watch as if it was something special.

not quite right. my this year Chile tour costs 6990,- €. My last cruise in december (Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius and La reunion was 4550. The maiden voyage on Diadema was 5900 €).

I said in mediterranian, for caribic i need to work 2-3 weeks, no big deal, you can come down now you arent impressing anyone here.

No, it's not strange, but pointing it on PDF is strange. If you feel the urgency to boast here, you have some confidence issues, sorry to say bud. This is not a personal pissing contest forum, it's mostly a pissing contest between nations

Its hard to make a pissing conest with nations that rank magnitudes under my own in evry development issue. :/

Would be nice to go back on topic.

btw why doesn´t turkey have a cruise line and massive liners like we have? Its incredible profitable and renomee.

Someone bragging about 7000$ is a simple narrow minded person,he has no chance if he makes it personal.:rofl::rofl:

Why should anyone come in a thread related to another country's military naval projects to compare himself to people he doesn't even know how they look like or what they work etc? Is it related to the topic to show people how much money you gave for a tour in the Caribbean etc. or is it just a desperate try to boost your self confidence...... online? Smells like inferiority complex to me. :D How pathetic should one be to always say how great his life is, how prosperous his country is, how intelligent he is but still to come over to fight online with people he thinks are second class compared to him and to show up himself... in a freakin' forum? How pathetic is a person that has pleasure from bad things that happen to others? :D
Someone is either obsessed with us, hates us too much, or probably loves us deep inside in his soul but still can't realize it and get out of the closet. I mean there should be something, right? A normal person isn't trolling in most of the threads related to countries he doesn't like...A normal person will also never say that building a cruise ship is a harder task than building a military naval vessel. Intelligent people don't compare apples to oranges.

Cruise ships are far more complex than military ships. AFAIk they had massive problems with Azipod propulsion in their vista class vessels.

reaction of many people as they read through your posts

What is a military ship in your dictionary?

In my understanding this bad boy can easily take on those tourist ships in terms of complexity.

Or what about this? Not even all of its secrets are known to public.

You are generalizing by simply saying Cruisers are more complex than military Ships while its generally assumed that military technology is decades ahead of civilian market.

All this a side you would never let a imbecile captain like Schettino command a AC or Destroyer. :D

@isoo This was a defence forum right?
I have nothing to say mate ,i have already said my debate has ended with @MarkusS , so in his perspective, our liners in Bosphorus are much complex than FACs :)

You have no liners.

afaik there is no turkish cruise line

Explain to me why Mitsubihish heavy industries a corporation that builds carriers, frigates and destroyers horrible failed in building the AIDA prima and said it failed because its lack of knowledge in a such complex projects?

The japanese were humilated by the AIDA cruise lines.

Its said that they presented the AIDA Prima to the CEO of AIDA and he was outraged. Told them they produce shit, that the lighting options don´t work properly, that the carpets aren´t right, that the hydrodynamic flow system wasn´t working properly and the pools were not adjusted to please the guests.

In the end it ended in desaster for Mitsubishi:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...full-year-profit-misses-on-cruise-ship-losses

Mitsubishis lost all further contracts and wont build a cruise ship ever again.

Thats what you guys dont get with complexity. Sailors can be treated like cattle.

A liner demands excellence that the paying passengers demand.

Most of you guys never see a cruise ship from inside so you can´t know what i talk about.

Its not about having cruisers, i have worked in several projects which was also concerning cruise liners, been into consultation groups.

Italy would fail to built VLCC , while they are damn easy for japanese to build or same for other cargo, container ships built in korea, italy would fail in all of them. In this term vlcc is one of easiest kind of ship, much more easy than even passenger ships.

There is something called experience, a shipyard building cruise liners may not able to built up simple naval systems or even a tug, got it? You havent seen how a ship is built, you havent seen a real complexity in even a tug, all you have seen is fancy decoration , and some comfort which is also designed in apartments or simply hotels. The basic point is, size isnt everything or an ULCC is more complex ship, simple we naval architects provide a volume for interior architects, and all they do is doing fancy design, this is not complexity at all.

A rules book for design of cruise liners consist of comfort rules mainly, while naval vessels comply to many other rules. Even last 3 years there were a few accidents ended up pieced ship for cruises, naval ships just laugh to hits and move on.

Mitsubishi wasnt experienced in that, Ulsan is also same , you cant ask a professional dessert chief to cooo soup, or it would be a mess.

You are only a little amazed kid of fancy stuff in a cruise ship, bragging about it while you even didnt go in a tug vessel to see complexity or in a naval vessel.

He is right. Turkey isn't able to show flag with cruisers on the Med.-sea.
Turkey has no experience and operation culture for that kind of ships.
The only line were from Italy on 40 year old ships from Bari-Cesme. That's a shame.

He exaggerated the cruise prices. Far east cruise. same is valid for Caribbean
One week flight from London - stop in UAE to Singapur ,

with AIDA 1700 Euros in an inboard double cabin.

But that guy MarkusS is a real provocateur.

If he is so potent he should make a cruise with Queen Mary begins from 20.000 € and upwards

Let's argue with facts

Anthem of seas is the biggest in Germany build cruiser. 348 meters and 168.000 tons

Assume Turkey can build it, but there is no operational staff and service staff to manage it.

Complexity. LNG ships are the most complex ? Or ?

lol @ inboard cabin. I never book below a suite. You must have pretty low standards if you book inboard.

at costa i booked a suite and the med Cruise cost for two people above 5000€. you have your own whirlpool on your balcony, your own butler, vip status ect. I could not book below that because im used to this standard.

i would never book QM2. Its for old people. My budget also doesnt go above 7000€ for vacation.

Militaryships are far less complicated simply because tehy dont have that enormous complex systems a liner needs to have instaleld., Its absicly a giant autonomous city. Entertainment, propulsion, sanitary, theatres. The energy output of a cruiseliner is magnitudes greater than that of a military ship.

You have 3900 paying passengers who expect absolute luxury + 1500 crew. You have giant suits, dozens of elevator systems, pools, spa areas and environmental aspects you have to consider.

Mitsubishi for example is a very good ship builder. It builds carriers, freighters, military vessels. Now it got its first cruise ship the Aida Prima and went to its knees. Mitsubishi was unable to meet the obligations because a military vessel is no liner. The maiden voyage was delayed almost 2 years. Mitsubishi made almost 1 billion $ negative and gave up on building a liner in the forseeable future again.

As for the Azipod systems, the QM2 has them and has regulary issues. They fail because the complex rotation mechanics break.

The kitchen alone of a liner has more technology than an entire military vessel.

Of course you lack the funds to ever cruise so you only know from the outside.

yes.

cruise liners are bigger, filled with entertainment systems, must provide luxury, cost effectiveness.
military vessels house their crew like scum.

Show me a military vessel that has 130.000 tons mass is 309m long, has hundres of luxury suits , a theatre, dozens of bars, entertainment systems, could power an entire city, has to make 2500 different finest meals at same time ready and orders cooled down vine of evry sort:

This is Costa Diadema. We sailed on her maiden voyage in 2014. She is italias pride and the largest vessel ever under italian flag. The technology behind her is plain and simply awesome.

There is a reason why an Arleigh-Burke-class destroyer costs almost $400 million more than an Oasis-class cruise ship, which happens to be the largest of such vessels in the world.

it's mostly a pissing contest between nations
