Altınay sees gaps in the market very well. This cargo UAV should be seen as a feasibility study. If the Armed Forces need it, larger body platforms can be studied. It doesn't draw much attention yet, but also its other works are very good. Mini-UAVs which have gimbal systems for carrying light weapons can achieve very success in near future.

@cabatli_53 this is quite interesting it seems they are working on diffrent varients with diffrent load capacities i.e 50 kg - 100 kg and 150 kg with a range of 30 km

As we can see, It is planned to carry an electro-optical imaging system. So It can also be a SAR module instead. Other than the original purposes, it can carry a large number of mortar shells, with a different carrier module. Also, It can be a carrier platform for swarm attacks against asymetric targets.

do the mortars imply it can carry them for strikes or just as ammo supply? I hop they can be dropped
for strikes.. to be fropped from above the enemy.. it has been used in Syria and was very successful..
the best part of it is it leave no sign behind unlike kamikadze drones..

The most advanced Turkish UCAV to date - AKINCI.

The first version will be with a 2x450hp engine same power as mq-9 and later probably end of 2020 or beginning of 2021 second version with a 2x750hp that’s going to be ultimate killer machine hevals should start asking for asylum on Mars

If they can put a 2000 hp Double Wasp on it that be awesome.

Yeah 2000 hp sounds even better but they won’t give the engine you know that akinci has two engine I can’t expect that americans would give 2x2000hp that would be overkill UAV right now 1500hp(2x750hp) is enough no UCAV has that kind of power (I don’t include Okhotnik which has bigger power but this drone will be ready in 2025 and it is a stealthy UAV Turkey also has stealthy UAV program that would be ready in 2027 so it won’t be fair to compare Akinci a drone already done with a stealth UAV who will make debut in 6 years)

I agree. Okhotnik is not turboprop like akıncı. Comparision of turboprop and turbofan engines generally do not make much sense. They have very different thrust and they give aeriel vehicles very different flight characteristics.
