A higher population is also a resource. I am not an expert on Turkey, but this is very obvious. Anyone willing to sacrifice their life for Turkey should get Turkish citizenship. Don't think about this with EU mentality. Again, just my opinion.

If they had loyalty they wouldn't have jumped the sinking ship of Syria in the first place.
Women and children is fine they are more than welcome to have Turkish citizenship, but the able bodied men should be fighting for their country,.
Then you got the risk of bringing their sectarian filth with them too. The Syrians long supported PKK and other commie rats in the past,

More poor uneducated people means more povert and problems. We allready have plenty of that.
I'd rather be like a Scandinavian country with a relatively small population that is taken care off instead of lets say India a huge population with lots of problems.

If theres one thing Turks dont like than its giving away Turkish citizenship. Nationalism has deep roots in all parts of the Turkish society whether its the religious ones or the secular ones.

However I dont mind people getting the citizenship after learning the language, paying their taxes and learning the local culture.

If Mines were inhuman , the EU would forbid landmines to Ukraine.

Either seperatists and Ukraine goverment use landmines near the Europe.
If Turkey stopped refugees using by land mines ,The European Union would be totaaly relaxed and happy.

If I had authrotiy i would invalidate a lot of (%20 of population )citizenships in Turkey.

I don't care about it being inhumane or not,. I am only worried about the Turkic and other friends that might be harmed by them. f*** the rest. otherwise i'd say mine the whole region.

I doubt you are real Israeli. Israeliman who I know ,keep and save their country, for Israeliman security of nation has more value than other things.

It has nothing to do with me being Israeli, mines are more dangerous than useful, rain drag them around, and they spread around.
While their purposes is to defend the territory, in reality, it become a hazard.
For that reason, Israel started to cleared mine fields few years ago

In addition they dont differenciate between good and bad, thousands of disabled children around the world learned it the hard way.

The wall is doing a good job so far and it will even do better once finished.

Turkey-Syria border wall to be completed by mid-2017, defense minister says

Construction of a concrete wall along the Turkish-Syrian border will be completed in the first half of 2017, Turkey's Defense Minister Fikri Işık said Wednesday.

Speaking during a visit of the border units in the southern province of Hatay, Işık said that almost 270 kilometers (167 miles) of the wall had been completed so far.

The minister said the construction of 200 kilometers (124 miles) of the remaining 520 kilometers (323 miles) had started.

"85 kilometers (52 miles) of the border is [part of Euphrates and Tigris] rivers for which we will take different measures," he said.

Turkey shares a 900-kilometer (559 miles) border with Syria, which has been embroiled in a civil war since 2011.

The Turkish Armed Forces are boosting security on the Turkish side by putting up concrete walls to stop illegal crossings and, on the Syrian side with coalition air forces, through Operation Euphrates Shield, which aims to cleanse Northern Syria of Daesh terror and secure Turkey's southern borders. With the military operation, Turkey's southern border has been cleared of Daesh terrorists.

Turkish Armed Forces units are erecting the modular walls along the Turkish-Syrian borderline between Suruç district of Şanlıurfa and Karkamış district of Gaziantep.

Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011 when the regime of Bashar al-Assad cracked down on pro-democracy protests. The civil war has seen over 400 thousand Syrians killed by terrorist organizations such as Daesh, PKK/PYD and the Assad regime.

if you dont guard it every 5 km with ground troops than it is useless..

and if you dont want to guard it than put there 3 km thick minefield (with anti tank mines and all kind of destructive nasty mines) with some offical and hidden access points...

A wall is better than no wall.
I am not saying it is ideal, we can look in the future and try to improve it.
Again, this is not the finished article. I think we need thicker walls. This can all wait for now.

Now we need: a giant trench (5 meters deep and wide filled with broken glass and sharp metal pieces ) in front of the wall,razor wire filled trap holes, anti vehicle and personnel mines, phosphorus trip activated signals (legal reason: to serve as markers for mortars and artillery acquisition, real purpose : deterrence through physical and psychological trauma), armed aerial recon/CAS 24/7 on the border through UAVs and of course a large and well equipped border guard that is always present and deterrent on every kilometer of that border.
