Qatar is just making a "long term" mistake here. Forget about its dispute with KSA, which I hope is temporary one. Turks are too emotional when it comes to their own military things, and this could drag us into endless disputes and hatred (on top of the existing ones).​

Yeah, if you see it from the perspective of Mr. Everything in SA and his minions in UAE. Even their allies don't agree that Qatar is making the mistake here. They think their SA and UAE allies are making the grave mistake here and they will have to live with its consequence. It's a good thing that Mr. Everything in SA has put the Turkish base in their most peculiar and arrogant demands. Now Turkey should start doing in earnest what needed to be done long time ago.

Turkey has a military base in Qatar and every indication points to its continued existence. So, the US should simply shove its veto up its.

Qatar will eventually go back to GCC block. Once US put the foot down this matter all will be resolved within no time. Can't guess what will be Turkey backup plan. But, its totally confrontational situation . Indirectly, Turkey challenging US and GCC interest in Qatar. In next few weeks or months or years , I see change in Qatari ruling family or family members.

Turkey is expanding it's influence in the region to do so you need to have assets placed close as possible to the region you want push influence into. That means - military exercises with friendly countries in the region and military support.

It seems foreign entities are getting salty and don't want Turkey to grow it's soft power.

Theres rivalty but also historic grudge, most Turks apart from conservatives dont believe in ummah.

That's encouraging, Saudi's use that term only further it's interests nothing else.. Turks are more knowledgeable than the likes Pakistani's and Afghans, Hence they realize it

And theres even problem with the conservatives, the thing is they wish the Ottoman times back where Turkey is leading muslim world, i think i dont have to explain how Arabs feel about it.
