    Turkey receives first parts of Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems

    The first parts of Russia’s powerful S-400 missile defense systems have been delivered to Turkey, according to security sources.
    
    Speaking exclusively to Yeni Şafak daily, security sources have confirmed that Turkey has indeed received “small parts” essential for system integration from Russia over the past few days.
    
    The same sources, who are closely familiar with the issue, said that the U.S. decision to suspend all shipments of F-35 training equipment and other parts to Turkey came as a result of this delivery.
    
    The move is expected to further strain ties between NATO allies Ankara and Washington.
    
    Washington has repeatedly cautioned Turkey against the purchase of the S-400, warning it might be used to covertly obtain critical information on the F-35, including its detection range, which could then be relayed to Russia.
    
    Pointing that the delivered parts were not related to the S-400’s firing or radar mechanisms, sources confirmed that the fragments were very essential to the integration process.
    
    The U.S. suspended shipments to Turkey of equipment necessary to the procurement of the F-35 stealth fighter jet fighter Tuesday because of Ankara's intent to buy Russia’s S-400 anti-air system.
    
    However, acting U.S. Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan told reporters he thinks Washington and Ankara will "solve the problem so that they have the right defense equipment in terms of Patriots and F-35s."
    
    Following protracted efforts to purchase air defense systems from the U.S. with no success, Ankara decided in 2017 to purchase the S-400.
    
    Ankara is also planning to purchase 100 F-35 fighter jets from the U.S. and its pilots are currently training on the weapons platform in Arizona.
    
    Turkey first joined the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program in 2002 and has invested more than $1.25 billion in the project. It also manufactures various aircraft parts for all F-35 variants and customers.
    
    The S-400 is Russia’s most advanced long-range anti-aircraft missile system and can carry three types of missiles capable of destroying targets, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
    
    It can track and engage up to 300 targets at the same time and has an altitude ceiling of 27 kilometers (17 miles).

Russians were merely protecting their Prized asset S-300 from being used / exposed , or left open for Spies to steal it's secrets.

Since it was a strategic asset for Russia that is why they could not deliver it at that time to Iran

It's pretty obvious Iranian land does have internal spies who release fotage of underground iranian factories or building sites just goes to show you spies do exist

It was only the embargo and economic sanctions fear that prevented sale of S300 to Iran as at that time i believe Israel did not have F35

Utter complete rubbish.The original version of the s300 that iran purchased was the soviet era late cold war pmu1 version,at that point the russians were already using the much more advanced pmu2 version,in addition if russia was so worried about having its secrets stolen then why oh why did it sell iran the nebo svu radar which was the latest and most advanced sam air defence radar that the russians had and was specifically designed to detect and track lo and vlo 5th gen [stealth] aircraft for the s300.
The russians were simply being their usual reliably totally unreliable selves,who thought that they could once again use iran as a political bargaining chip for some short term political gain with the west,unfortunately however this time they got a little bit too greedy,as by signing the contract and then failing to deliver they had violated it and ended up being hit with a rather massive 4 billion dollar penalty[nearly 6 times[!!] the value of the contract]at arbitration,at that point the russians suddenly became very interested in doing a deal to fix the problem and avoid paying the 4 billion penalty.Ultimately they supplied iran with the s300,however it was not the old pmu1 that iran had originally ordered but was instead the very latest pmu2 with some s400 systems back ported to it as well.
So in the end iran did pretty well out of it,tho the moral of the story is that one should probably not trust the russian government as far as one could spit them.

In syria Russia and Iran were at best partners of mutual convenience working to ensure the survival of the legitimate syrian government which they were both allied with,tho each had their own specific reasons for doing so and were protecting their own interests first and foremost.Ironically it was syrias arab and muslim neighbors who were supporting both the terrorists and the usraeli/nato alliance who were trying to destroy syria as they had libya previously.
