Turkey faces big losses as Russia sanctions bite

I doubt many Russians will go India. It's no way near a rival to us. It's dirty, polluted, the culture is much much much different. Spain, Greece, Egypt to an extent before the aircraft attack, maybe morroco will the destinations Russians go. Actually Bulgaria too.
at last its people arwnnot barbarians with no native culture except Islamic Arab culture :)

and yes we are not land stealers or fake oelr wannabe central Asians ;)

FYI Russo people are coming here because they like our culture. its not barrier :)

Tourism sector makes merely 5% (at max.) of Turkish GDP, apart from that even if all 4 million Russians out of 40 million tourists annually stop coming it wont make a big difference, check your facts before celebrating.

Maybe its big deal for Indians but not for us. :coffee:

Russians dont go on holidays to experience culture. They go on holidays to relax and enjoy the beach + sun + good food. They want to lay at the pool and drink some vodka and enjoy Turkish fruit (real fruit like apples) .
India cant offer cheap All-In solutions for the Russians, neither can Greece till a certain degree. And thats why your whole argument that these Russian tourists come to India is BS. What Turkey offers to Russians (in the touristic sector) cannot simply be offered by other countries, and definitly not by India.

not to mention the first tourists of 2016 in Turkey were Russians

Of course there will be some affects but very limited. That's Russia's problem who forces its people to buy one single tomato for 2 $.

P.S. To your attention, article written by Selin Girit of BBC a.k.a English spy Selin. :)

both sides are always affected during sanctions but one side suffers more, Russia is already sanctioned by the West and is already in recession. I have never in my life heard a country already in recession imposing sanctions on other countries. Turkey within 1 week diverted its exports to Central Asian markets and expanded its relations with energy rich countries, while tourists from Russia are still pouring in to enjoy the cheap prices in Turkey, specially with massive decline in ruble.

Turkey gets half of its energy supply from russia

isn't antagonizing your primary supplier bad diplomacy.
.

that's why I said Turkey is rapidly expanding its relations with energy rich countries, such as Azerbaijan, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia and potentially Israel while at the same time moving towards alternative energy.
