Turkey Donates $1.3 Billion to Poor Countries

This is nothing special.

Other countries have been doing this for years.

I think its important for Turkey..While most of the countries decreased their aid ratio, Turkey increased..and Turkey is not super rich..We are also struggling with economic crisis..So the question is, why did Turkey increase her aid ratio while she had the chance to spend that money within herself? Like health care, education etc etc Thats what i am wondering

Because it is the right thing to do, helping a country stabilize and develope will benefit everyone in the end. Also aiding those countries will also be a kind of "branding" for Turkey. Plus, you might not like it, but there is a big difference in how the money is given.

Example: USA says, "here mr. Mubarak some money spend it on the rich people, and we'd like to have your women in exchange.", while Turkey says, "here is some money, build houses and schools and help improve the agriculture of your land so you can harvest more crops".

remember that aid, money, weapons is incentive the west uses to make the lesser developed countries do what they want. Very few have ulterior motives.

Exactly ! If the aid funds people centric projects, which I believe it does, it not only creates enormous Goodwill for Turkiye and hence gains them substantial political currency in International Relations, but it also ensures that the recipients of that aid and their fellow countrymen would be Turkiye's unofficial ambassadors wherever they go !

Could you tell us Australia's aid amount in 2011 from a reliable source, so that we can compare Turkey's AID AMOUNT/GDP ratio with Australia's AID AMOUNT/GDP ratio?

Nope take it from experience they will say all that aid money is for funding terrorist kemalist religion or whatever they make up there. Best thing to do is not give a single penny to anyone or anything. Let them be poor and die of hunger that is the lesson we got from our giving Aid.

Mate, my father is a Doctor at a hospital entirely funded, in its construction, by the UAE ! There are numerous projects all over Pakistan which have been funded by either Saudi Arabia, the UAE or to a lesser extent, Kuwait; additionally, I've heard that many of Pakistan's military acquisitions were funded by the Saudis...heck some say even our nuclear program received substantial monetary support from Saudi Arabia ! Now I can't comment on the veracity of the military bit but I can very well see the civilian infrastructure right before my eyes ! And no...the vast majority of us don't think that Saudis are funding terrorism in Pakistan or elsewhere...and no...we don't believe that bit about Pakistanis being treated like turd in the Gulf-States either ! And if anecdotal evidence is anything to go by I've family and friends who are happily settled in Saudi Arabia; in fact their only displeasure is about not being offered citizenship despite being there for the better part of 2-3 decades ! They've never complained of discrimination, nor of mistreatment nor about the Saudi Government funding terrorism in Pakistan ! I have, however, known some really nasty characters here in Pakistan who've done considerable harm to our social fabric by engaging in everything from sectarianism, basic human rights abuses and treating women like dirt to having sympathise with the TTP who've butchered more than 40,000 Pakistani civilians and calling their despicable acts as Jihad, and this along with a very deep dislike for, as they put it, zionist-american slave Saudi Arabia !

P.S If you're going to form an opinion on the rantings of some disgruntled internet Pakistanis with their chests puffed out because they are sitting behind a computer screen thousands of miles away and by some lovely Iranian friends of ours, then I think you need a massive reality check ! So come to Pakistan...walk amongst us and see for yourself the goodwill that Arabs in general and Saudis in particular, enjoy amongst 'My People' !

P.P.S If you come to my city...I'd even treat you with some of our local delicacies !

Good job.

Though, can someone make it clear to me how much aid Turkey gets from the US?

Every source I go to says they get around the 1-2 Billion mark annually.

List of countries by foreign aid received - Wikipedia | Facebook

United States foreign aid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Indian receives far more foreign aid per year then Pakistan yet Indian cries whenever aid is given to Pakistan. They talk as if India is a 1st world country. It is no doubt a third world sh!t hole after all it has more poor then entire Africa as per latest BBC report.

As far as i know Turkey does not receive aid from the US.

My sources tell me otherwise, I think Turkey is less and less dependent on AID per year, but I do think they receive American aid.

where is your source for 2010 and 2011? and i find it extremely funny that you think Turkey is dependent on aid???

Turkey gives at least 10 times the amount aid as it recieves.
