Turkey converts another former Istanbul church into a mosque

. . .
The destruction of babri masjid was that of a functional mosque, indeed, while Muslims were present there who were murdered in the process. This is not comparable with a hundred peaceful conversions of churches to mosques.

Are you even aware that India's SC declared the destruction of Babri to be illegal under Indian law?

Yet, the Ram Mandir was built on this land that was brought into existence by an illegal act of vandalism and murder

I know - it's hard living with this reality.

there are thousands of mosques in india which are built after demolishing functional mandirs by sultanats and mughal emperrors , will you suggest restoring those mandirs after demolishing those mosques ?
erdogan doctrine and logic supports restoration of mandirs of india after demolition of mosques .

Again, trying to show your broken comprehension by refusing to recognize that the mosque-turned-museum was actually as a church-turned-mosque.

You seem to be ignorant of the fact that Hagia Sophia land was bought and paid for before converting it into a mosque. Plus you demolished a mosque in 20th century.

who sold hagia sophia ? defeated and fallen people ?
who sells their places of worship ? hindus kept on fighting and giviing their life for their mandir for thousands of years , they took somnath mandir many times from hand of muslim invaders , nobody gave them offer to sell their mandirs in india ?

there are museums with prayer hall everywhere. did he say he wants to burn it?

is this a vada smiley or popcorn smiley

He is a peaceful Indian and will never even think anything against basic human rights and religious freedom etc. and burning is part of his religious proceedings.

popcorn was invented by ancient Vedic Indians so that is Ancient vedic popcorn smiley.

Babri was destroyed 30 years ago. Do not compare this to actions in medieval times before universal human rights became a concept. Temporal relativism doesn't cut the mustard.

Modern India is a secular republic. Medieval mughalistan was not.

Figment of imagination. Sanghis can never cite more than 20-30 mosques that were previously temples.

Masha'Allah, another museum reverted back to a Masjid.

Who's idea was it to convert Masaajid into museums? Did anyone condemn these anti-Islam / anti-Muslim forced conversions?

Transformation of Kariye Museum comes a month after a controversial conversion of the renowned Hagia Sophia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has ordered another ancient Orthodox Church that became a mosque and then a popular Istanbul museum to be turned back into a Muslim place of worship.

The decision to transform the Kariye Museum into a mosque came just a month after a similarly controversial conversion for the UNESCO World Heritage-recognised Hagia Sophia. The decree on the issue was published in Turkey's official gazette on Friday.

The 1,000-year-old building's history closely mirrors that of the Hagia Sophia - its bigger neighbour on the historic western bank of the Golden Horn on the European side of Istanbul.
The Holy Saviour in Chora was a medieval Byzantine church decorated with 14th-century frescoes of the Last Judgement that remain treasured in the Christian world.

It was originally converted into the Kariye Mosque half a century after the 1453 conquest of Constantinople by the Ottoman Turks.

It became the Kariye Museum after World War II as Turkey pushed ahead with the creation of a more secular new republic out of the ashes of the Ottoman Empire.

A group of American art historians then helped restore the original church's mosaics and opened them up for public display in 1958.

However, Erdogan has in the past few years placed a greater emphasis on the battles that resulted in the defeat of Byzantium by the Ottomans.

Turkey's top administrative court approved the museum's conversion into a mosque in November.

This may come as surprise to you. But the "most extremist Indian society ever" will have many more mosques than the temples that its "most liberal western neighbour ever" may ever have. Its like the least black shade of black will still be blacker than the most whitish shade of white. Once you understand this, whatever you say may be paid attention to by world at large (For e.g. when someone has converted to a foreign religion and erased the originals completely, the world never takes it seriously when that someone starts pointing fingers at someone else where the population of minority (convertees) has increased considerably. Few lynchings or few riots cannot change the large picture. No one searches for trees in forests. World has that much common sense)
