Turkey, Azerbaijan to discuss naval shipbuildingFri 12 November 2010
Representatives of Turkish naval shipbuilding companies are to visit Azerbaijan soon.
The delegation will discuss cooperation on naval shipbuilding between Azerbaijan and Turkey and exchange opinions about the joint production of ships and other vessels, Turkey's Under-Secretariat for the Defence Industry told APA.
Turkish defence industry officials said representatives of Turkish company Yonca Onuk were expected to visit Azerbaijan in the near future. The company is negotiating the building of naval ships for the Caspian littoral states.
Yonca Onuk can build vessels with a 500-tonne displacement for Azerbaijan and the other coastal countries.Yonca Onuk makes patrol and rescue vessels and exports them to the Gulf countries, Georgia and Pakistan.
