ANKARA, Turkey — Turkish authorities have arrested an Iranian national who they say tried to smuggle in parts of a Russian-made anti-tank missile system with the suspected aim of delivering them to a terror organization.

The Customs and Trade Ministry said Sunday that the man, identified only by his initials E.E., was detained at the port in the Black Sea city of Zonguldak, after officials searched his truck that had arrived aboard a vessel from Ukraine.

A ministry statement said the truck was officially carrying diapers but inside was found the “main parts” of a Russian-made system used by violent groups, including Kurdish rebels and Islamic State militants.

The ministry said authorities believe the missile parts had probably been sent for repairs and were being returned to a terror organization.

Not like these bastard arming PKK/YPG to teeth and their officials pose side by side with wanted terrorists... FVCK OFF USA!

Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism and that too within Islamic countries.

Iran rightly calls America the "Great Satan"... what I oppose about them is their foreign policy which leaves no room for making alliances (like the verbal statement of their MP against Pakistan) and their internally orthodox policies like forcing women to wear hijab.

Just because an individual Iranian citizen was involved in terrorism, we shouldn't blame all of the Iranian people.

I guess this Irani was in fact a PJAK member.

It's not even needed for him to be a member of a terror organization. He might be a regular guy who needs the money that they offered him to smuggle those weapons or he might not even know what the cargo in his truck is.

Makes me wonder what kind of other stuff are being smuggled trough the borders without them getting in the hands of Turkey's authorities.

If you read the news, they are linking Iran regime with Isis.

I can name you many Pakistani nationals who have commited terrorist attacks, it does not mean Pakistan specifically was involved. Quit your obsessive anti-Iran belief, it's both annoying and pathetic.

Iranians are blaming Pakistan without arresting a single individual, and you are blaming me as anti Iran!
I think it should be clear now to all forum members, if Irani / Indian blame Pakistan by opening baseless thread, I would respond by opening 2 factual threads.
Anyway, i see no issues in exposing axis of evil!

Visa free travel. The amount of smuggling is gigantic at the Turkish-Iranian border. But both countries don't want to change the current situation. Iran needs trade and we're the only nation in the Middle East that welcomes Iranian citizens. Every other nation in our region demands visa from Iranian citizens. On the other hand, Turkish government doesn't want to disturb the social communication with the South Azerbaijanis + trade.

The only important question here is: Can we use that parts to improve our own anti-tank missiles? :P
