US relations are down what they are doing in syria is unforgivable. S400 is signed and there is a possibility that we wont get the F-35 (source)

. In 2020 TuAF wanted to retire its f4 2020

What is the alternative now will we extend the lifes of our f4 2020 is that even possibile? TF-X i think will defintive have a priority but its supposed to be air superiority. TuAF needs a multirole fighter jet so which real alternatives are there?

•I know J-31 might be already ready in 2020 but im not sure about our relations with china (uigur problem).

•the russians offered us to join one of their 5th gen MIG stealth fighter projects (But we have still unresolved issues in northern syria lets see if they will help us out or go against us but we will ahve to make our position clear as well im supporting assad because this is the man with "i will take every inch of my land" ideologie this is fine acceptable for turkey. The russians also want to diversify their economy and they see turkey as a potentialy country where they export their stuff and vice versa maybe thats how u can further engage with them . Altough putin said that relations are on pre jet crisis i believe that relations will go to pre jet crisis when syrian war ends with an acceptable result for both russian, syrian and turkish parties.

• Pakistan, maybe buy a couple of their jf 17 jets and modify them i think turkey does a good job modifying and modernising stuff. U can maybe pull an f16 block 50 out of a jf17
turn this

This is the option which prefer the most because u can trust pakistan. U will also strenghten their economy and importantly their image as a nation which sells jet fighter to TuAF. They also would never sanction u and this is important- escpecially now.

• Next option are the Europeans relatiosn are sour right now but might get better (right now elections in germany) Many of them have eurofighter typhoon this a interesting jet but also very expensive however some of them retire them we might can buy 20-25 multirole till we have clearer outlook on the alternatives

Eurofighter_multirole.jpg

Another option i think most difficult one
• Turkey will challenge its own and will build its own 4-4,5th gen multirole fighter. I think TAI has experience in building f16,anka and t129 i think u defintive have the capabilites by now to produce a fighter jet (not 5th gen however which is why tai needs help from BAE) I would say this should be discussed in the defense ministry i think u might need 5-6 years for that jet but i doubt it will get trough but have that on mind as well. U cant afford failure

I think the best alternative is honestly JF17 because what TuAF would face in Syria are is an army with very little air defense (u might have a couple of AA whhich they captured or are given from the americans but more then that they are an army which consists only of infrantry and light armory) u would also face defense lines and bunkers and i think JF 17 is capable of carrying the ammunion for these sorts of missions and if not u can modify these jets.

I also like the idea of ef 2000 but its expensive but think pragmatic.

I don't think the U.S. will drive Turkey out of the F-35 as there are way too many deep industry linkages at this stage (with Turkish companies involved in the supply channel). Even after Canada flaked, LM is still issuing F-35 work to Canadian companies. Another example is Airbus DS sending A400M work to South Africa, even though South Africa also withdrew from buying A400Ms itself. It's tough to burn business activity bridges. Moreover, Turkey is among those countries that is committed to fulfilling its F-35 orders, providing necessary scale for the platform.

You also need to factor in quality vs quantity. The expensive European/Russian options might seem attractive, but the extremely low cost of Thunder brings a quality of its own. Paired with top notch Turkish pods and missiles, it will be a force to reckon with. And if you go with Block 3, you might already be close to that photoshopped version you saw.

It would be interesting if Turkey becomes an investor and starts developing Block 3 onwards in consort with PAF and CAC. Hopefully this will accelerate the schedule for Block 3. And where Turkey could bring in considerable value is HMD/S if it can use its considerable influence or R&D infrastructure to make this available for Thunder.

With these modifications, the Thunder will not only meet, but exceed the Block 50/52. Coupled with LO features in Block 3 (heat signature minimized at inlets, lower noise, more composites) and the natural small size of the plane, it will be a force to reckon with.

If there was Hillary, she would put full blown embargo on Turkey and kick Turkey out of NATO already, yet alone not selling F-35.

I don't think that there will be any problem between Trump and Erdoğan if Erdoğan won't do something stupid.

Right now Trump is fighting against CIA backed US deep state, to survive in US politics, and he needs support. NAZI block in EU will not support him. Which makes Erdoğan and Saudis his natural allies.

I remember that there was many years ago an offer to be a member in developing the EF

I dont know where I read that but it said that we could have a deep look in EF to modify it and build our own weapons to that bird.. but we did not want it we chose F35 ...

I really hope that we will get our own bird in the sky.. without it we will face something like that in the near future..

but one thing for the records.. if they will deny us some Planes or more you should all be concerned about the future of Turkey because this are the first steps and preperations for further destruction (if that ever will happen I'll give us 2 decades and they will start to attack.)

but with trump I think we will get that f35 shit..

I don't think USA is gonna altogether kick out Turkey from f35 as tai is major system vendor but maybe number of jets reduced Better to wrk o your tfx and develope it into multi role stealth fighter as for 4 g jets jf17 is the best option in terms of cost and insurance of supplies and can b upgraded. By your self
BTW I believe 5th g can't completely replace 4 g as b too expensive and would make air force too dependent on one factor of stealth which if countered would b disastrous so both will.operate side by side

No way Turkey will be kicked out of the F-35 program, unless we leave NATO. I don't see that happening any time soon

F-35 is the best plane a country can buy..... F-22 not up for export....Turkey shouldn't let this opportunity slip.... With F-35 they can have a better air force than a country that doesn't....

You should not be worried about the F-35,we will get them.
Btw,most of your examples are 4th gen fighter planes, the J-31 is no option for us,it still uses the the Russian RD-93 engine(Guizhou WS-13 Chinese version),untill China has its indigenous WS-13E finished, the J-31 is not really ready.

Must watch before calling F-35 'the best plane a country can buy'

To summarize a long video, LM seems to be thwarting any attempts at meaningful Operational Testing. What little testing has been carried out results in a very damning result. The reason why US won't hold back F-35 from Turkey is they need the funds to iron out the kinks. They want a host of other countries sharing the costs, not just the US.

I know about the controversy about the costs and stuff, but it really is the best plane, its a stealth plane, you have the advantage of first strike before the enemy can even see you.

Not today. Currently, it has problems of showing you false targets that don't even exist. Its efficacy is the promised future when all kinks are ironed out.

Don't get me wrong, I think the basic idea is great. And what they currently have is truly a technological marvel. We are seeing decades of R&D and investment in this plane. But it is not fit for battle yet, and Turkey might end up paying a lot of money before it becomes battle ready.

With F-35 you will have better Air force than both Pak and India... :o:

I agree the F-35 is a great plane. Its a very attractive plane.

However, im afraid to say is that we cant afford to have the F35 and the kurdish presence on our southern border this is getting to expensive for our budget and i prefer eradicating kurdish presence on our southern border (both kdp and PKK) over F35.

You should not be worried about the F-35,we will get them.

Yes, i think my articulation was a lil bit wrong. What alternatives are there for the f4 2020 immediatly in 2020 and i think the option which i posted are the most realistic ones. This had little to do with 5th gen because US right now is the only one which has these planes. However there is a possibility that we wont get the f-35 all lobies, the greek ones, the jewish ones and the armenian ones are right now heavily lobbying against it. This is important to remember and the situation in syria just adds much much much more fuel.
