TuAF Alternative to F-35?

if UK decides to sell Eurofighters to Turkey, can other participants, such as Germany, block the deal?

otherwise Pak Fa is a possibility if Turkey goes for S-400s, but for the Navy, F-35 is the only choice for the LPD

PAKFA is javing soooooo many problems just ak any hindian on this forum. He wont like to admit but this is the truth.

I don't know about Indian version of PakFa, but T-50 is about to enter service in Russian Air Force.

We don't have any viable options to F-35 unless it's from Britain or France/Italy cooperation. The swedes could be a good partner in R&D, let's hope our politicians don't piss them off too much.

Turkey should go for F-35's for it's LPDs....

In the mean time, Turkey should also focus on building it's own defence industrial base and fighter jet TF-X.

you should get your hands on the silent eagle , or pay russia to make 5th gen fighter for you . maybe you can start a joint venue with us .

"pay" ? do you have any idea how much it will cost. Perhaps Iran could give Turkey all the natural gas we need free of charge, then we could probably pay any nation to make something for us.... lol wouldn't solve the problem in the end.

US relations are down what they are doing in syria is unforgivable. S400 is signed and there is a possibility that we wont get the F-35 (source)

. In 2020 TuAF wanted to retire its f4 2020

What is the alternative now will we extend the lifes of our f4 2020 is that even possibile? TF-X i think will defintive have a priority but its supposed to be air superiority. TuAF needs a multirole fighter jet so which real alternatives are there?

•I know J-31 might be already ready in 2020 but im not sure about our relations with china (uigur problem).

•the russians offered us to join one of their 5th gen MIG stealth fighter projects (But we have still unresolved issues in northern syria lets see if they will help us out or go against us but we will ahve to make our position clear as well im supporting assad because this is the man with "i will take every inch of my land" ideologie this is fine acceptable for turkey. The russians also want to diversify their economy and they see turkey as a potentialy country where they export their stuff and vice versa maybe thats how u can further engage with them . Altough putin said that relations are on pre jet crisis i believe that relations will go to pre jet crisis when syrian war ends with an acceptable result for both russian, syrian and turkish parties.

• Pakistan, maybe buy a couple of their jf 17 jets and modify them i think turkey does a good job modifying and modernising stuff. U can maybe pull an f16 block 50 out of a jf17
turn this

Into that
PAFJF-17ThunderinCGIforprojectedfut.jpg

This is the option which prefer the most because u can trust pakistan. U will also strenghten their economy and importantly their image as a nation which sells jet fighter to TuAF. They also would never sanction u and this is important- escpecially now.

• Next option are the Europeans relatiosn are sour right now but might get better (right now elections in germany) Many of them have eurofighter typhoon this a interesting jet but also very expensive however some of them retire them we might can buy 20-25 multirole till we have clearer outlook on the alternatives

Eurofighter_multirole.jpg

Another option i think most difficult one
• Turkey will challenge its own and will build its own 4-4,5th gen multirole fighter. I think TAI has experience in building f16,anka and t129 i think u defintive have the capabilites by now to produce a fighter jet (not 5th gen however which is why tai needs help from BAE) I would say this should be discussed in the defense ministry i think u might need 5-6 years for that jet but i doubt it will get trough but have that on mind as well. U cant afford failure

I think the best alternative is honestly JF17 because what TuAF would face in Syria are is an army with very little air defense (u might have a couple of AA whhich they captured or are given from the americans but more then that they are an army which consists only of infrantry and light armory) u would also face defense lines and bunkers and i think JF 17 is capable of carrying the ammunion for these sorts of missions and if not u can modify these jets.

I also like the idea of ef 2000 but its expensive but think pragmatic.

here is a photoshopped ef 2000

Ur 2 cents ?

As Alternative to F-35 for turkey is only either TFX or J-31 if you want pure fifth generation fighter. But if you want diversify your air force you can have EF-2000 which is going to have extensive to bring it near fifth generation fighter but money will be s factor .for replacing F-4 best options is JF-17 block III both cost effective and sanctions free.

Reminds me of an anecdote. Once a Turkish general was visiting NATO HQ and was having a working lunch with generals from the other NATO countries. They were served sausage. Now, all other folks were curiously observing the Turkish general - whether he eats pork or not!!! To their amazement the Turkish general in fact was eating pork!!! Of course they got curious. El Jevap - "it's Helal when you're surrounded by enemies and have nothing else to eat!!!!" It's not whether or not - it's a matter of time for it's against the Fitret of the Turkish folks....

Well thats more of a brainwash product by kemalizm and secularism. The best way of acting in situations like this is showing that you are a man of willpower and principles. Nothing wrong to refuse that pork.

it is not easy for US administration to kick out turkey from F-35 project because they have placed a significant order of it which mean one way or another throwing turkey out of the project will increase the over all project cost which is already sky high.
but even if US does that, 10 Turkish companies are already involved in f-35 project and out of this project they have gained precious knowledge and experience and same knowledge could be diverted to home grown TFX in no time, F-35 is already facing lot of technical issues due to which it could be further delayed.
one thing common for all three countries i.e. China-Turkey-Pakistan, that they are striving to have a potent 5th generation fighter to counter the F-35 and other 5th generation fighters, and this desire can bring them together for a common goal, with some diplomatic maneuvering it is possible that other than these three countries few more countries can join hands for the development of on going 5th generation fighter programme. therefore the strategic location of turkey and its importance in the region have its own weight in regional politics and turkey always have options on the table.

It's nothing wrong to refuse to eat of course but be sure that on a NATO meeting, where high ranking generals and people from all over the pact and the partner countries gather such a thing can never happen- like serving pork to a Muslim official on purpose. I don't know what drinks and foods they serve there but in Western Europe the etiquette is very strict and for sure on such a high rank meeting they will never risk to make a huge scandal with such kind of behavior.

Hakikat's story is probaly just an another fairy tale/street legend you Islamist guys usualy like to believe into. Better educate yourself about the world, read some books and travel and who knows- maybe then you won't see the world in white and black only.

Point on.Nobody is feeding pork to muslims, I don't put pork on the table when I have muslim guests, altough I know some eat it.It's just a matter of etiquette and common courtesy .
