TTP claims responsibility for killing tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan
ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility on Sunday for the killing of nine foreign tourists and their guide in Gilgit-Balitistan.
The incident took place near a camp base, where the tourists were staying.
TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan called The Express Tribune and said the group’s faction named Junud-e-Hafsa carried out the brutal attack.
He said the killing was revenge against the US drone attacks and killing of TTP chief Waliur Rehman Mehsud.
“This will tell the international community about our feelings and sentiments against the killing of our fighters,” he said.
Government officials said five Ukrainians and a number of Chinese were killed. One Pakistani also died and one Chinese survivor has been recovered.
The climbers were staying at a first camp, around 4,200 feet from Nanga Parbat, one of the highest mountains in the world, in the Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan

Total failure of the Agencies and Establishment. Heads should be rolling on this account. It sounds like the deceased were mountain climbers ( 3 from China, 5 from Ukraine and 1 Russian and 1 Pakistani).

They were indeed mountain climbers. One of the Chinese killed in the attack had already climbed 10 of the world's 14 highest peaks.

apperantly you don't read the news about airforce shelving their plans to modernize because they only ever got 60% of their allocated budget...same goes for army...they are nit swimming in wealth...
budget is tight there too...

if fauji foundation sincerely works for retired soldiers and out if their own initiative and honest work...gives tyem plots after retirement...why that makes you jealous?

army can move into the base camp and put a flag there claiming the wipe out of the terrorists. I blame the Americans on this one now
had they not killed the 2nd in command of our angry brothers then TTP would have been "easy" on the killing..

Yes of course -- Perhaps you will spare a measure of concern for those 50,000 innocent Pakistanis - Maybe you don't understand that a deliberate decision to not tackle the Islamist enemy has been made to further foreign policy objectives the Army holds dear - perhaps in time you may realize it.
