MIRAMSHAH: A meeting of the central shura of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan is being held at an unspecified location in the tribal region to firm up a formal response to the government’s peace overtures made after the all parties conference (APC) held in Islamabad.

According to sources, the meeting of the militant organisation’s central decision-making body might continue till Wednesday after arrival of some important Taliban leaders from different areas.

The TTP has welcomed the all parties conference’s declaration of unconditional talks offer and termed it a positive step.

There are some indications that both sides will call for some confidence-building measures before starting negotiations.

Would a F-16 showing up at said meeting with a few PGMs be unwarranted? Add a few SSG operatives with a laser designator.

Can be done, BUT- the Maoists are a declared LEA exigency. The armed forces (IA, IAF, IN) as such have no mandate to step in there except for providing logistics. As per the law of the land ONLY the CRPF and state/central LEA may engage them that is NOT the case with the TTP which is engaged in an active conflict with the Armed forces of Pakistan- specifically its Army.

Mizoram has nothing to do with Maoists, the march 1966 operation saw use of air-power for a specific purpose AFTER the IAF was legally mandated to do so (under our constitution). Unless the Maoist affected sectors are declared as disturbed areas and the AFSPA enforced the army has no mandate to go in there and carry out any combat operations.

The things that are coming out that they may demand these things from that it seems they are quite interested in stopping this war and ending war Sir they I thought they would demand Fata handed to them but they asked it to be handed over to Khasa Dar force which is government force and also asked for government jobs only tough demand for government would be establishment of Sharia courts

As long as those courts are under Federal Shariyat Court's jurisdiction, it shouldn't be a problem.

Slowly when literacy level grows, over the next 20 years, the civil courts might become stronger.

I used to think that why such a thing can't be done, then I saw the geography of N.Waziristan. Mountainous and Thick jungles. Such meetings occur in deep jungles or the caves they have dug in those jungles where they can't be seen from C-130 recon aircraft nor a a F-16 can deliver a PGM precisely

Of Course Such a meeting place is impossible to find first by Intel operatives without getting caught or being lost in jungle
