Turkey is in a situation quite similar to that of Pakistan. Harsh measures are always needed to ensure the rule of law and internal security.

Had we done something similar with Afghanistan back in 2006-7 we could have saved thousands of Pakistani lives and billions of dollars worth infrastructure.We didnt fence the border back then, we didnt form a buferzone,we didnt negotiate well with US.. we failed at managing the conflict..all because some people were more interested in securing their politics and were a the mercy of US for it. There was no Trump back then yet our so-called ally treated us like dirt and started indiscriminately attacking in our territory.And then came the local backlash to its response....
Turkey should not repeat Pakistans mistake.

it's pretty clear that trump doesn't want to be involved anymore but congress and the american public is all allied with the kurds. even trump's own party is turning on him so he doesn't have much choice but sign off on some weak *** sanctions and send this disgrace of a letter. the sanctions that will come from congress with be much tougher.
